Enough is enough. Once or twice in a coach's early career is understandable, but after that it should be a wake up call. You can't take a week off, there are no "gimme" games in college football. Anyone can beat anyone on any given Saturday.

You're right. There isn't anything we can do about it, but there is something the players and coaches can do about it. We shouldn't be losing these games. Losing to Wisconsin was a whole different deal than losing to NW. Wisconsin is on our level in terms of talent, NW is not (no disrespect). There's no reason we should drop games to teams that we are clearly superior to in all aspects.

If it is what happened, it's stupid in that Bo is essentially telling his team, "Do as I say, not as I do."

Something is holding this team back. Bo is quite possibly part of the problem. I am eager to see him grow past this problem and be the best Bo he can be.

1. As a Graduate manager he works a lot with the scout team in preparing the team to simulate our opponent's offense. Also, works with the line during the Summer. Does other stuff as well of course.

2. Talked about "DAT" discipline, attitude and toughness. Seems like they are really preaching it to the team espically after the game last week. Stressed that they need to be very focused this week due the issues at Penn State. Penn State will come out and play hard with Joe Pa's firing and all. We need to match their intensity.

3. He said both the coaches and players over looked Northwestern. It falls on the coaches to be prepared and they were not.

4. Defense is really going at it hard this week. Bo very unhappy from last week's performance.

5. Expect more player rotations this week using the younger guys. Not only at O-line, but other positions as well like RB and WR.

7. Briefly praised right side of line ( M. Jones and Long) along with Caputo. He said Long will end up being a very good player as he is only a sophmore right now.

So what kind of offensive scheme would you use against that type of defense? More misdirection? Zone read? More short pass play?

I think Martinez utilizing a short passing scheme would proably reap great results, but this has to be established right away instead of waiting.

I agree this is what happened, but Bo has to realize that we are not good enough to overlook anyone. This is not the old Big 8 when Osborne could work a little each week on OU.

I think the OL unit in particular gets caught up in the hype. Everyone was calling them world-beaters after the way they handled MSU. Because NW was considered way below MSU on defense, they thought they could come out and play patty-cake. That responsibility falls on the players and the coaches.

It's like we're scared to piss Bo off.....scared we're going to lose him. It's no wonder he treats the fans and media like horse dung.

Seriously - "over looking a team" is right up there with "quitting" as the ultimate insult in football, and Bo's teams are making a habit of it. If TO can't have a serious conversation with Bo on this and put him on notice, then get prepared for worse.

I don't think it is so much as giving Bo a free pass as it is knowing that we aren't going to bring in a coach better than Bo if we fire him. I don't like the excuse "we overlooked the other team". I think it is very weak and very stupid. But then again, I am also not a coach. I don't know how to prepare a team to play two ranked teams back to back on the road. Maybe there is something that goes into that that ALL of us are unaware of.

Nevertheless, I hope Bo and Co learn from their mistakes and get the team ready to play for every week, not just the weeks that matter.

I'm not disagreeing with the meat of your post, but to say Nebraska almost lost the SDSU game last year is simply not true. It was a close game, but there was never a real chance we were gonna lose that game.

not be prepared....welll first off...by half assing your gameplan, thats a possibility. I am not saying they did, but also not playing hard in practice, coaches not being focused...that all goes into preparation. If those factors are lacking...it could very well transfer over and reflect the following Saturdays game. I am thinkin the SKERS will be VERRRY prepared this Saturday for Penn St.
