You need to settle down, my friend.

I think there are concerns with as, a few people would put it "Bo Pelini Football." The mistakes, turnovers, and playing wound up tight that we've been used to seeing over recent years. The team that has all the ability in the world, and then comes out flat against teams that it outmatches greatly.

That doesn't take away from the fact that we have a lot of ability on the team, and I'm really not seeing your "spread offenses are too sissy for Nebraska" (or any other school) argument. You're welcome to present your arguments, Caine, but for some reason you sound really personally upset about the team and really, you could calm down a little. :P

 
hmnn,,, Mr. OP, I am sometimes impugned for being a bit... pessimistic. But compared to you i feel just downright like a sunshine pumper.

It is not all bad, w/o any good (as you seem to suggest)...

The team has some good young players who will get better like TMart (he is still a Jr w/ 1.5 seasons left), and Bell, Enunwa, Heard, Abdullah, Evans, Cross... to name a few. The team, while it has its problems, did show grit in two games w/ some serious come-from-behind rallies (sure Wisconsin & NW are not SEC teams... but still, that shows something promising). The WR corp is improving.

So relax. Enjoy NU football even if it is not where we would like it to be. We'd all like the team unified, focused, and intense w/ good mechanics and w/ heart every quarter of every game. But... ragging at others fans accomplishes little. No ones standards of acceptance have changed... at least mine have not --- I accept and root for NU no matter what... simply because NU is my alma mater and I loved the place. My allegiance is not proportional to the teams performance. That, I surmise, is the case for most who post here.

Hey, wait a second Caine. Don't listen to husker B-rent--no need to give up 18 points. I'll take that NU +16.5 for the five grand.

NU's offense does not stink by any measure that is reasonable.

Oh... and you ask what good does it do to win against weak teams if you lose to the good teams? Well.. if you lose to both the weak teams and the good teams... your record is worse. What good does it do to beat weak and good teams only to lose in the national championship? Are you saying victories count only if you win it all and beat everyone? Does a loss to a great team take away all value associated with previous wins?
