I feel he will remain just as active if not more so because he will see his moderator status as a reason to keep coming back to the board. I really see him settling into a knapplc type role as a moderator. Lance has a good rapport with the members even though he is part of the moderating team because he has stayed just as active as he did before becoming a mod. Lance is highly visible and I think Adam will be as well. His postings are not one that call out or take issue with certain members. If he does get into a disagreement with another member, he's not one to resort to personal attacks and knows when to walk away. I think the matters when choosing moderators because then they can still post as a normal member and not be seen as baiting other users into bannable offenses.Lastly of the people I didn't mention, I wanted to make a note on It'sNotAFakeID. I've always enjoyed his posts here. He took serious, extended issue with the mods team over the January bannings, and I don't know what became of that. I don't think his concerns were unfounded, but I am surprised he was so interested in joining the mods team, and don't know *why* he did, or what approach he intends to adopt. This is something I wish we had learned more about in his application, but all we have from him is how much he posts. In fairness, that is all that was asked in the questionnaire. However, *every* other candidate at least did some feeling out about the nature of their proposed role with Eric, so it is a notable omission to me.

Zoogs put it awfully eloquently and exactly what I was thinking.
This has nothing to do with trust huskeraddict, but I'm curious what he sees the mod position as. You are someone who is very observant, always around, offer great feedback and intelligent. On the flip side, you have said previously, you just don't post a whole lot.
How do you see Adam (FakeID) in this role? If he is active, will he remain active? Sometimes when we have a person become a mod it's almost like they crawl into a shell and become very reserved. They are afraid to post or feel they have to change and "police the area." Do you feel he will do this?
Also, I do feel like I will ask a follow up question to the January issues we had and merely ask what his views are on it. Not looking for a certain kind of answer, just opinion. Not a deal breaker whatsoever.
BTW......anyone can respond to this post. You all have a voice. I just mentioned huskeraddict because I know he's friends and has spoken to him. I also know Mavric and Knapplc are high on him as well. Please feel free to reply. Sell me on FakeID!!!
Thanks for your help, Eric
If he was ever going to walk away from posting here or severely cut his time down, it would have been after the January bannings. By his staying here, staying an active community member, and applying for this position shows me that he can see both sides of the coin. It's a legit question to ask if he'll be on board with the direction that Management wants to take HuskerBoard, though.
Agree with this 100% and I think that's a big plus for someone who doesn't have a personal relationship with him to have that takeaway. I think it speaks to his posting personality which I don't see changing if he's granted moderator status.I think this is good. I really like the guy as a poster, and he's definitely very level headed. Going back through the threads, I don't think he said anything I wouldn't have in his shoes. His biggest issue was with the silence. And for a long time, the silence was deafening.
Thinking about it again, it's not just him as a poster. I think he will be an extremely judicious and fair moderator.
At this point, the four in green for sure unless you guys disagree. How many are we going to add, Eric?
Sounds good to me.At this point, the four in green for sure unless you guys disagree. How many are we going to add, Eric?
For the love of pete...... I forgot Blackshirtguru again. I do want to add him.Landlord of Memorial Stadium (James) - Just not going to work....too much baggage

Minnesota_husker (Ryan) - I reread my conversation with him. He was open about the "mistakes" he made. Not sure, but he might be referring to his remarks that BRI is referring to. At this point I don't feel comfortable assigning him to a mod position. I have too much respect BRI's comments - he's been with us too long. Thank you BRI. But...how does this sound? In Minnesota_husker's comments he mentioned he would be alright with not being a mod. My suggestion is I let him know we discussed it, we're a little concerned about some past comments, but we're willing to seriously reconsider him in three months if he just maintained contact and was visible. Let me know your thoughts guys.
Hammerhead (Aaron) - I'm going to say no for now. But i would like to offer the same "deal" as we might offer Minnesota_husker. i want to let him know that we just know him enough to make a decision. Really odd, no own had anything bad at all to say, but we lacked much of anything to go on. If he could turn it up a notch, be creative, start a bunch of threads in whatever forum we could really give this a chance. How do you guys feel about that?

NUance (Scott) - YES 100%
Thanks_Tom RR (Adam) - YES 100%
It'sNotAFakeID (Adam) - YES 100% - I guess I needed some reassurance, I cannot and will not disregard your great recommendation. Thank you for all your responses. I have zero reservations now.
Saunders45 (Josh) - YES 100%
Perhaps a compromise? Tell them we need to limit the new mods to make sure we can help them integrate but that there is a possibility we'll add a few more in the "near future" and we'd love for them to consider applying again if we do. That way, we encourage them, but don't leave a definitive window so they don't change their interaction on the board just to secure a mod position.I'm good with the picks, but I'd leave out the three month idea part for now. Maybe revisit it with them without them knowing around football season time?
