with anyone else, i would agree. but this is a head coach who really prides himself on developing and coaching 0 star recruits and coaches. i mean, he refused to fire a badly performing O-line coach on his way in, hired a high school coach to be a position coach and a 24 year old as a WR coach. then he released the returning starting QB and brought in a turnover prone QB. he obviously believes he has a midas touch.

that being said, i still think he'll be successful here. he just needs to decide if he wants to slow the process down or fast track it. the possible mistake i think he's making right now is thinking he has 3 years to work with in this transfer portal era.

Some people will then say "yeah so Sims gets a bit of a pass because of 'the line' or no stars at running back." But Sims' play is pretty erratic and he just seems to lack some of the basic things a QB needs to have.

Maybe just like Tim Beck would do, you make some adjustments to set up creative ways to spring Sims loose on the zone reads. But either way it's such a boom or bust scheme and that's what I hate about it. The halfway decent teams shut it down often by just spying him and playing close to the line of scrimmage.

Tmart completed like 64% of his passes.  He should get way more credit than most fans give him.

 
Put Sims at RB with one of the other QBs and RBs, in a triangle type situation. Have him throw safe stuff on truck plays out of that. Go crazy, ain't gonna matter much.

Sims should go down to QB3 until he transfers. Put all your resources into giving 1 reps to Chubba and HH.

Couldn’t be worse. Couldn’t be anymore embarrassing than what we saw.  Letting sims keep trotting out there is a signal that he is above this supposed accountability we have heard about for the last 10 years without much substance.

No I agree with you. After Taylor went to that QB camp in California before his junior year his passing game improved a lot and he wound up pulling up his career completion percentage.

But I'm saying, what do we even do to make something out of what we've got this year?
