The talent & skill is very much there, but he's got time on his side and some growing to do. I said it before, but I think he's our soon-to-be Colt McCoy (at least reminds me of him quite a bit). And I've been here (Texas) when Javeon Snead and McCoy battled it out after Vince Young bolted for the NFL. Snead was ballyhooed with Matthew Stafford & Tebow (he played against Stafford in HS and committed to Florida, then chose Texas before Tebow chose Florida). McCoy just had that natural touch and gift to get it to the right read, while being capable to scramble when needed. Not saying Gebbia will be McCoy, but just see something very similar in the two. And McCoy had to redshirt his first year - not just because they had Young - but because he was 172 lbs soaking wet. Listed as 6-3 but the truth eventually came out at the NFL combine (6-1 1/2).
