I wouldn't be surprised if Gebbia's dad had put out feelers to schools in/around California in case Tristan did lose the #1 QB job.

Or Mississippi.

Yup, no reason to wait.  Martinez will be a 4 year starter so it makes no sense for him to stay when he'll fit better in another offense.  He obviously has the skillset to start for D1 programs.

Yeah, I'll go ahead and guarantee that TG plays to some degree if he stays at Nebraska in 2018, barring him sustaining some kind of injury or some act of God.

I love the kid, and respect and understand his decision to leave.  I would bounce as well.  He has NFL talent that will not get seen here on the bench.  He wants to get to the league and it won't happen in Lincoln.

I wonder if TG accepted the challenge to battle it out for #1 - with a backup plan in mind that if he somehow did not win the job. 

He's a confident player with good skills.  Probably crushed, and probably looking at those alternate plans now after it didn't work out.  :dunno

A source close to the situation tells HuskerOnline redshirt freshman quarterback Tristan Gebbia plans to transfer from the University of Nebraska.

Sad to see, but if true...best of luck to the young man wherever he ends up.
