Not sure if the topic was on here yet or not, but we are at 8.5 wins this season according to Sportsbook. I cant see us going 8-4, or am I crazy? They also have us a 17.5 favorite in our opener....Thinking about putting big money for 9 wins. Thoughts?

Well, we should be 4-0 going into the Wiscy game, right? I don't know about that game, but it is at home and Wilson is now in the NFL. Then we play Ohio State and Northwestern. I don't think Urban Meyer(sp?) will make that much difference, but we should have lost the game last year, so???? Northwestern (regardless of last year) should be a victory. Then we have Michigan and Michigan State. My heart says we can win both, but realistically we should beat Mich State. Then we should have three straight wins (Penn State, Minnesota, and Iowa). So what is that? I think that's 9 that we should win for sure (or pretty sure).

I'd take the overs....and it is so much easier of a bet when it's your money :D

Northwestern (regardless of last year) should be a victory.
We're more likely to beat them because of last year. I don't understand why so many people list this as a trap game this year. It's not a trap game when the team lost to them the previous year. There's no way they'll take them lightly this year. They'll probably take another team lightly. Like Arkansas State or Minnesota.

We will probably split the 2 tough back to back games. Wiscy and Ohio St, and then Mich and Mich St. Possibly lose one we shouldn't which would be 9-3. I think we have a good shot at 10-2 this year though. 1g I'm thinking

KSU at +/- 7 seems like easy money,
I'm guessing you mean you would take the over? I would never bet on K-State. The people I hung around with all summer were KSU fans, and a good point to bring up is this: While they won 10 games, or however many games they won last year, they were probably 1 or 2 plays away in about 5 or 6 games from not even making a bowl game... They are a mentally tough team, but I don't see one team on their schedule that is a guaranteed win. Hang onto your money on that one.

The team I have as my favorite to win the Big 12 is WVU. Vegas has WVU at +/- 8.5 though, so probably not the best bet to make either...

Yes shark, I should have been more clear. I would take the over.

KSU has UTs number, and aside from OU and WVU I'm not sure who in the little 12 could take them out. I'm no expert on their OOC schedule but if history dictates anything it shouldn't be anything they can't manage to roll through.

Remember when Nebraska was picked as the preseason B1G favorite? And the difficulty they had adjusting to a new conference? No way WVU gets a Big 12 title, there is no way past OU and Texas for WVU this year. They're gonna find out how weak the Big East really was when they get to the Big 12.

I guess my rationale on that pick to get past the whole conference difficulty discrepancy is that WVU has Dana Holgorsen (sp?) and he will know how to get his guys ready for Big 12 play. I think OU is overrated, and they obviously have issues at WR. That, and I have zero confidence in Landry Jones. WVU has the best QB in the conference, and I think everybody is pretty mediocre in the Big 12. I won't be surprised if they go 6-6 either.

Don't forget about TCU! Pachall is among the top 3 QB in conference now, and personally speaking, an arguement away from becoming the best. Love Patterson (coach) - he just gets the most out of his players and has them always ready to play. He's confident without a sniff of arrogance. I think he is the league's top coach now. Their weakness will be their secondary, their OL is a little inexperienced, Wesley just left the team, but coach will have them ready. They had a recent drug scandal, so some guys got kicked off the team. They're still stacked with uber talent at the skilled positions. They got tons of Texas speed on all sides of the ball. Their unity is second to none. Plus, TCU has been ready to rip the Big 12 and Texas schools since...forever. Prolly not gonna happen this year. But over the next few seasons, Mac and Stoops will be hating the Frogs.

TCU B12 schedule looks interesting...somewhat brutal. Wonder if the commish wants them to feel overwhelmed and get pummeled from the get go.

at Kansas

vs Iowa State

at Baylor

vs Texas Tech

at Okie State

at West Virginia

vs K-state

at Texas

vs Oklahoma

Most "experts" don't think the Frogs can keep up the Big12. We will see...Go Purple!

(sorry, my insight is being 20 minutes from campus and the only Texas college team I can stand to even root for)

Interesting that Wisconsin is 9 and Mich, MSU tOSU and us are all 8.5. Only tOSU was under last year and the other three (other than us) were well over. Somebody's going over. Might as well be us.

Nebraska always plays to the level of their opponents the first part of the season, so not sure how they get 17.5 points. Seems the coaching staff keeps it pretty basic to start the season, I would say if that were to happen, it would be a good sign of things to come, because I would say that if we were that far up we would get to play the backups, which is something that we really haven't gotten to do that much of in the past few seasons.
