I also remember everyone hating on me when I said we would have some struggles stopping the run this year. I don't look so dumb anymore do I?
I seem to remember quite a few people talking all summer long about concerns against the run, citing our inability to stop the run last year and a need to improve. You weren't alone in that concern, and you're not going to get a lot of people rushing over to pat you on the back, especially since I'm betting most nobody remembers the fact that YOU said we'd have trouble, since so many were saying this.

But having said all that, good job on your prediction. You rock. :thumbs

You guys kill me. The way Fresno pushed you around you think you're going to win by 50? I didn't think they had hard drugs in Nebraska. I have two words for you so you don't feel so bad this Sunday. Holiday Bowl.
Apparently you didn't catch the part where most of the people said the OP was nuts for making that prediction. See all that space between the OP and your post? That's called a "discussion". That's what we do on these things called "forums". You should give it a try.

Regarding the Holiday Bowl, I'll respond with five words: We Didn't Give a Sh*t. That was you guys' National Championship. It was our "...but we have a lovely consolation prize for you: A NEW TOASTER!"

We actually looked about the same last year in our first 2 games as we have this year. Western Kentucky actually played us alot closer than the score probably indicated. Their running back had an impressive amount of yards as well. He was never really contained. The Idaho game was also another lackluster performance except for all of the INTs by our defense. How on earth did Nebraska completely embarrass you guys on your home field like that after those 2 games? Oh yes, the excuse was that your starting LB was hurt. Well, I will see that and raise you with we had 2 starting LB's out with broken legs. I also have the same 2 words for you as well, because chances are that you will need them after Saturday's game. Holiday Bowl. Take it and enjoy it again because it will not have the same meaning/result as 09/17/2011 in Husky history.

It's funny watching the "Dawgs" psych themselves up like this again and set themselves up for another massive disappointment.

Which one of you is this guy?

There could have been a video shot of similar Nebraska fans during and after the holday bowl. I give the guy credit for giving Nebraska credit in the end.

Are EWU and Hawaii even remotely good rushing offenses?
Neither Hawaii nor Eastern Washington focus on running the ball. Over the past ten years Hawaii's highest Rushing Offense rank was #82, and that was in 2006. In the past five years their average rushing ranking is #105.

Eastern Washington is, of course, a D2 (D1AA) school. They do not put a heavy focus on running, either, with an average Rushing Offense rank of #61 in the past decade, with their best year coming in 2004, when they were 33rd - again, that was in D2. Over the past five years their average ranking is #67.

So no, neither team Washington "shut down" even really tries to run the ball.

Just to point out something I recently was corrected on, EWU is D1-AA (FCS), and not D2. They are different levels. D1A (FBS), then D1AA (FCS), then D2, and D3 and JC in there somewhere.

I think our dawgs go into Lincoln and beat you guys for the second game in a row. Udub will win this game by 1-7 points.

I have also been corrected on the D2/D1AA thing, but I'm not changing. I refuse to use "FBS/FCS" and I refuse to stop calling D1-AA "D2" because I am obstinate. :D

You guys could win, I'll give you that. Sark knows his offense and he'll give us one heck of a test. But I do not agree that Washington will win (big shocker, there).

That's the most realistic prediction from a Washington fan I've seen so far. I'm not guaranteeing a Husker win, but I'd bet money that if Washington does win, it'll be a very close game.

I got a date for you.

Husky Stadium, SEATTLE, WA

What was more impressive, the Holiday Bowl win with a 6 loss team beating NU in a bowl they didn't want to attend against a team the beat up earlier in the year? Or the beat down that was Sept 18th, 2010 by the Huskers on your home field?

I know which one looks more impressive to me.

Polk will show us again why we have things to work on.

You do know we've only played two games right? That rollout was eating us alive and our defense was on the field forever.

The rollout and the crazy amount of holding. When you max protect, and straight up do takedowns on the DL, you'll get your yards.
