As much as people want to believe that the AD has full control to make hiring/firing decisions, it just isn't the case.
This. Just like every other big time program, they have to have the backing of their donors or they will lose support ($).
Then get rid of those losers along with Pelini. I'm tired of losers making the decisions for our football program. Having money doesn't help a person make good decisions. If anything, it's the opposite.
Start winning big games and everybody will want to be rubbing elbows with the new staff and there will be plenty of dollars to go around.
It's a combination of the two issues.
When we have large money donors in positions that hold true influence inside the University, it creates a bit of a conflict.
Just to give an example - at one point last year, Tim Clare is a weathly donor and is the chairman of the Board of Regents. Clare was also on the Board of Directors for Bo's charitable foundation.
Hawks, Pillen, and some other guys share pretty close friendships with Bo.
It's why I've said if people truly are angry and want change inside the program, their anger would be better served going at the Board of Regents members rather than Eichorst.
