Weather for Colorado game

This.  How big a deal is it to come up with some dorm rooms and a cafeteria meal?  In fact why don't we put up all away teams?  Just plan on it.  Then if there is weather... no biggie.  We got ya.
Yeah I mean what could go wrong. Just boot out some room and board paying UNL students and throw some opposing team players in the dorms and cafeterias with them. Seems like it would work really well.

ROFLMAO at all the folks who say things like, "Just move it to Boulder."  Or, like I have seen somewhere, "Moos should have moved the Akron game earlier cause the weather forcast clearly..."

It isn't like calling up your friends and saying, "Hey it looks like the weather might get bad for an evening cook out.  Let's move it to lunch."  There are vendors that have plannd their food prep and staffing.  There are ticket takers and ushers and security that would have to be notified.  The LPD plans and staffs accordingly.  StarTran staffs accordingly.  There is the band.  There are the businesses that plan their staffing.  How do you notify 90,000 ticket holders that, OBTW we are starting 5 hours early.  Ok, Fox, we've decided to change the time at the last minute.  It is a real pain for all these folks when the kick-off times used to be determined for some games on Sunday the week of the game.

According to what? Now there is only ONE model expecting it to get to 75 mph.

Cheeky, you are pumping too much sunshine and should be disqualified as HB weatherman. Hurricane warnings issued by national hurricane center.  https://weather.com/safety/hurricane/news/2018-09-03-tropical-storm-gordon-hurricane-gordon-forecast-us-gulf-coast winds are already up to 65.  We'll probably have a fairly good idea by Wed. night what to expect for Saturday.

The Weather Channel hypes events like no other. Headlines are always dire, in general, for Hurricanes because they would rather the public (that will be affected) take it seriously and prepare. I’m more focused on what the models actually are predicting.

Hurricanes going through the gulf is like athletes going through NU's strength and conditioning - they both get stronger
Thank you Captain Obvious.

i am not pumping sunshine, I am reporting the actual data. How many hurricanes (which this storm is NOT yet) have you followed in the news?

All of the models currently show Gordon losing intensity significantly at landfall. This is going to be a high rainfall and possibly storm surge event (particularly if it comes ashore at high tide) FOR THE GULF COAST. This thread is about Colorado game weather. The game is being played in Lincoln, NE and not Gulfport, MS. (See? I can be Captain Obvious too!) :D

The chances that this game will be cancelled or even delayed are very low.  The SPC in Norman is predicting the system will primarily affect MO and the great lakes region with very little potential for severe weather.  We may have a few showers but nothing like we experienced this past Saturday.  We will play CU as scheduled,

  ...DISCUSSION... Saturday-Tuesday
Large-scale pattern is not expected to change appreciably during the
upcoming medium-range period with the dominant feature being the
upper ridge anchored over the Middle Atlantic. This flow regime will
continue to favor significant number of convective events from the
western Gulf States - southern Plains - Midwest. While the
westerlies have retreated to near the international border, the
remnants of Gordon are expected to eject across MO into the Great
Lakes region during the day4-6 time frame.

Ok is there a real chance that this game gets delayed or cancelled?  Will it happen again?
The GFS is currently showing light rain for Lincoln starting sometime on Friday morning and ending Saturday morning. Total accumulation in Lincoln predicted to be 1.5”. However there is no “gunpowder” for this time period, so thunder is unlikely and it should be over by kickoff.

There are a lot of model runs between now & then, but that is what the picture currently looks like.

Me right now at the feet of the weather Gods
