Weather for Colorado game

TS Gordon will be making landfall about the time you turn on your 10 PM news. The highest wind should be in the 50 kt range (under 60 mph) and once over land it will diminish. The remnants will wander around Arkansas for a few days.

Light rain will be on tap for around Lincoln for much of the day on Friday into Friday evening, but total accumulation is currently forecast for only about .15" for Lincoln.

This is how the latest run of the GFS sees the precip map at about Game Time on Saturday:

Looking more like it will be Southeast of Lincoln.

It could end up affecting games for Mizzou and the Clones/Hawks game. Not sure who else is in that potential path but this is looking good either way for the Huskers.

The other games could get messy, lots of rain. Lightning is usually somewhat rare for these inland tropical storms as they are fading, so hopefully it won't be a serious issue for any team in the path. Hate to see fans (even Iowa fans) miss a game or suffer through long delays. Interestingly, both Mizzou and the ISU/IA games are scheduled for later than I would have thought, which could put them right beneath the rain as it passes through.

Yeah I mean what could go wrong. Just boot out some room and board paying UNL students and throw some opposing team players in the dorms and cafeterias with them. Seems like it would work really well.
Sounds like it would work as well as making the other team room in Omaha because Lincoln can't handle it.

The latest GFS model run (which I haven't checked for a while) is predicting some rain in Lancaster County most of the day and clearing out in the early evening. Total 24 hr accumulation for Lincoln is now .6" by 7 PM Saturday.

The midrange NAM model puts precip just west and south of Lancaster County at 1 PM on Saturday, but it covers northwest Lancaster County by 4 PM and through 7 PM. (So pretty darn close and that area could move - one way or the other)

We've got another 24 hrs before the short range HRRR model can reach 7 PM Saturday.

In short, you might want to bring the ponchos, but these do not have the upper air support to be highly convective, like last week.

i went to the father sarducci school of weathercasting and i say the weather will be much better than last week...unless it's worse.
