Hello everyone,

Let's give a warm welcome to the new members on the team! They are:

Make yourselves at home! We're all really excited to have you guys here. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask. I've also asked Chad & Eric, the site owners, to drop by at some point to make their own introductions.

Some orders of business, as this is a summer of quite a bit of activity here. Mavric & saunders are stepping up to handle Admin duties going forward (this will be made public in the coming weeks). We're trying to oversee a transition and board software upgrade, after which I'll be stepping down from everything here (a bit too much on my plate lately; it's past due!) It's great, though, knowing that this place is being left in more than capable hands -- all of yours.

A big, big thanks to all of you guys for volunteering. You are all everything we want to see in a Moderator just through your presence on the board. Really looking forward to seeing you guys run the show this upcoming season

Thanks for the warm welcome. I'm looking forward to helping make this community continue to run smoothly. I mentioned it to zoogs, but I'm going to be driving all over the country for about two weeks. After that I'll be back and ready to help out anywhere that's needed.

Noob question #1 - do we get (and/or need) @Huskerboard emails? I've seen a few threads about it in the mod forums, and I just realized the email I have tied to my account is pretty old and a little silly.

I've been meaning to ask about the HuskerBoard emails. I don't check mine that often but it still seems to work. However I used to get a TON of junk in there and it just completely stopped awhile ago. Wasn't sure if other saw the same thing.

As far as setting new ones up, I think maybe AR did that (?). zoogs would probably know how to go about it.

Setting up would have to go through Chad (chad@huskerboard.com). Don't quote me on this, but I think you can have one if you want one.

Personally, I've stopped using mine. They insisted on us using their webmail interface and I couldn't get around to that -- or remember my password. Gmail has been way easier for me.

Does not having one in any way inhibit communication with us? I've seen talk in the Leadership Forum about posters "emailing" Mods - do those go directly to the email account we have tied to our user account?
 
I don't believe it'll cause any issues. The most straightforward way to contact anyone here is PM. I think mods/admin @ huskerboard are email lists, with maintenance of that is up to Chad -- so, not tied to your profile's listed email here, which you can also change.

I didn't realize you and zoo had different login names, by the way. Haha
