Sadly, for years we have been a point or seven away from a completely different season. Sometimes to the better (last years 4-8). A break here or there and we could have been 9-3.....Then again in Riley's 9-4 year, a break here or there and we could have been 4-8 again. One TD instead a FG, a FG instead of a punt etc....WE have been THIS close year in and year out, but continually have found ways to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.
As mentioned before about identity. Currently our ID is a mistake prone team, that self-destructs and lacks a killer instinct. Cally coached like the NFL (poor execution),Bo was too volatile (reason for the penalties), Riley was to nice (no killer instinct, lazy players), Frost is just right, but the same sh!t continues. Stronger, bigger, faster, but the same crap. On coach 4 and the same stuff......
Other teams flip rosters, get new coaches, attrition of players, injuries etc and seem to find a way to compete, improve etc.....I don't know how you flip the mentality.Get guys to excel at the basics, tackling, blocking, catching.....Until that happens, we will continue to have seasons predicated on which way the ball bounces.
