I know we all love the "being loyal" mantra and the old "I would DIE to play for my favorite team" bit...
But, if your son was a D1 basketball player, would you tell him to enter the portal every year so that he could try and maximize he value?
These are some numbers being tossed around, who knows how accurate they but it is just a point of reference.
Top 10 Player - 3M to 4M
All League - 1.5M to 2.5M
Starter on P4 - 500,000 to 1.5M
Bench on P4 - 250,000 to 500,000
