To get better? I think we can all agree that Tommy has physical gifts. Enough so that he's a 3 year starter at a historical program. I also think we can agree that most of his issues are between the ears, but what precisely can he do to change his consistency and the likelihood of favorable outcomes? Im sure it all starts in practice, but if your his coach or his dad or his friend, what advice to you give to help him build his decision making skills? And I'm not looking for things like: quit, transfer, change positions. I'm looking for real honest advice on how he can change his decision making process. Are there specific drills that can help? I feel that he's very untrusting of his team and his coaches and he tries to do too much.
The older I get the more I admire athletes who can stare adversity in the face and do what it takes to conquer and achieve. I'm really hoping he can be this story.
