What did we learn-Game 5 Illinois

I learned

-Tanner Lee can complete a game without throwing an interception. He had a decent game and it would've been a lot more impressive if Stanley Morgan wouldn't have dropped 3 or 4 extremely catchable balls.

- The D continues to improve and can bring some pressure when Diaco asks them to.

-Nebraska can play a lesser opponent and not have the outcome in question until the end.

-Illinois is atrocious.

-Our top 3 running backs are fairly interchangeable but each is a little different.

Knevel, Conrad, Newby, King, and A Davis need to sit the rest of this year. Keep the Davis bros on the field at the same time. Sit Freedom.

Can't wait for Lee to get replaced by a healthy Chris Jones.

Insert: Jaimes, Decker, Gifford, and Stille. Much quicker and play harder.

Body language of Mike Riley after the game tells me he isn't returning next year.
I feel bad for the dude.  Every time they showed him the last quarter it looked like someone had just kicked his dog.  It's a damn shame really.  I know he may not be as good, or as successful as we hoped, but hate to see anyone down like that.  Life is life after all.

- Defense will be salty by end of the year.

- OL can overpower lesser teams when they want to, or when you have the right combo.

- Stan the man makes our WR group 100x better.

- Linebackers still can't cover the pass to the wide side.

Not doubting you, just curious, what did you see?
Riley is usually displaying a smile after a win, expresses happiness and is eager to congratulate his players. Tonight he expressed zero happiness, no smile, and you'd think regardless of how bad Illinois is, with how good of an overall performance Nebraska had tonight he'd be happy. He did not look happy at all.
