What did we learn Illinois edition

1. We have a great young qb and are still missing some quality pieces on both sides of the ball.

2. Our corners & safetys were lost.  Is this youth or the new coach?  Hopefully this can be fixed.

Next time someone grabs a face mask, take them out of the game and have them run until they puke.

And we even got bailed out by a missed face mask call early in the game!

Hartzog must have some skills.  But he's very undisciplined.  Got smoked on their last TD.  I think on another one as well.

I learned a lot.

The most prominent thing I learned will manifest next week when Penn State slaps Illinois and shows me how far Nebraska is from significance.

The talent surrounding Dylan is not up to par. Coaching too.
Decked, I am not calling you out specifically, I agree with you, but to make a point, how did Riaola look any different than A-Mart??? Point being, fans give too much credit or blame on the qb. 11 men are on the field 11 men all have to do their job for each play to be successful. I didn't see Raiola make any throws A-Mart wouldn't have, but our receivers are better and he is more reluctant to run, even when it would be better if he did. Raiola is a good n QB . I wouldn't put him too far ahead of A-Mart at this time. It's more about the team we build around him.

Key Stats:

1. Illinois had fewer total yards against Kansas and Central Michigan than Nebraska ( the OT yards made it close to CMU)

2. The Altmeyer led Illini team only scored 7 points at home vs Nebraska in 2023.

The O has improved considerably while the D has taken a step back.

Apparently having receivers go for 4/90/2 and 7/81 is evidence of how bad they are to some people.
Where does getting out muscled for a perfectly thrown, tide-turning TD show up on the stat sheet?  Or the first quarter throw where he didn’t compete for a ball in the end zone against single coverage?  Or his missed block that allowed a tfl early in the game?

But I appreciate you letting me know what I’m allowed to criticize, as always.
