What did we learn- Ohio State edition

I mean, we were down by 35 points when we got the ball in the second half. If we wanted any chance of getting back into the game we had to score and score fast so passing makes sense. Throw in the fact you lose Tommy your running game takes a big step back. We didn't have the speed to get to the edge and we didn't have the horses up front to open lanes for the RBs. You can either pack it up and try to bleed some clock by running more to stop the bleeding, or pass to try to get back into it knowing if you don't move the ball you're sending out a tired defense that's getting clobbered. It's a lose-lose situation and those stats didn't matter as the game was far out of reach by that point.

Only played in their first 4 games so either he's hurt or he was replaced. 46.7 CMP%
Sadly, that would be an improvement for us right now.
TA has a 51.3 CMP%. Stanton put up his numbers against 2 FCS teams a 3-6 UCLA team and a 5-5 CMU team. So I doubt that.

Lately we've been worse than Stanton.

Board members know QB talent better than coaches.

Stanton didn't play 2 top 10 defenses.

I learned that of the 17 former/current walkons that started in the B1G this week, 4 were on our own o/d-lines

Langs money play is the deep jump ball to shitsville. Population zero.......IIRC, We were 9-33 last night........with 2 INT's......I understand the need to pass as we were curb stomped, but couldn't he disl something else up. Damn man, even a trick play or two.....
That's something we've been lacking from a coaching staff in a long time. Coaches that know how to set the opponent up to make mistakes. Cat and mouse. I don't think we've seen that since Solich.

Were you thinking trick plays before or after Tommy Armstrong got hurt? I wouldn't mind seeing ol Ryker Fyfe on the old Black Flash 41 Reverse. Also, I think we were watching the same game were Tommy couldn't even complete a 5 yard slant without it getting tipped.
