What's the biggest reason for Blacks not advancing

Just another example of what this case represents for too many black people in our country:

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/indiana-couple-sues-police-excess-force-video-incident-article-1.1966474

The argument can be made that the officers were completely within their legal rights throughout this whole thing, but the thing is that they get to dictate the circumstances. They get the power of telling the people to get out of the car, and the people have to choose to comply and 'be lawful' even though doing so makes them fear for their life.

Basically, an officer fears for his life and he is allowed to use lethal force. A civilian fears for his life at the hands of an officer and if he tries to protect himself by calmly remaining inside a vehicle, he'll get cut by flying glass and tazed.

I've been pulled over and reached my hands places that the cop couldn't see plenty of times in my life going for an id or registration. I've never felt like I needed to be afraid of something like this, and I've never had an officer become alarmed at me doing so.
Did you even watch the video of what you posted? Those morons refused to comply with any of the reasonable requests made by the officer. The reason you've never feared for your life from an officer is because you reasonably comply with officers requests when pulled over for a traffic violation.

As far as the Michael Brown shooting goes, the officer was completely justified in shooting. They keep painting a picture of Michael Brown as a child when in reality this was a 6'4" 300LB adult thug that robbed, then assaulted the poor gas station clerk, and then tried to disarm a police officer. I unapologetically have no sympathy for someone like that regardless of race.
Tschu thinks that you are subconsciously racist then.

If only there was some way to examine all of the evidence and hear and cross-examine witness testimony in a court of law. Let's call it a "trial" or something, if you will. That would seem to be ideal here.
Yeah, right. The people upset with the verdict burned random cars and business that had absolutely nothing to do with the shooting. What would happen to the middle-aged / elderly neighbors who saw what happened from their homes and testify "the wrong way" according to the mobs?

And focusing on one group of people and applying it a whole is equally stupid.
Mrs NUpolo8 and I had a very nice dinner at The Cosmopolitan in Vegas on Sunday. It was an expensive meal at a very trendy casino. Directly across from is was a couple. They were black. They didn't get shot. They enjoyed their meal, and it was probably more expensive than ours because they had a $300 bottle of wine on their table.

And they weren't athletes or rap stars either.

They were just people.

Now, not everyone can afford that meal, and not everyone is being treated questionably by police. You might want to stop painting with such a broad brush under the guise of oppression because I'm going to guess each separate outcome is a product of horrible upbringing, bad education and no motivation.

Plus it makes you sound like an uneducated platitude slinger, and quite frankly the world has enough of those and the pay ain't great.

Obviously there are macro and micro levels of social interaction and obviously not everyone undergoes the same specific instances in life. That goes without saying.

Despite that, in the words of Jon Stewart, "I guarantee you that every person in this country has faced an indignity. from the ridiculous, to the grotesque, to the sometimes fatal, at some point in their.... I'm gonna say... last few hours."

If it's not being treated badly by the police, then it's not being able to get a cap, and if it's not that then it's being stopped by security on your way into an office building, and if it's not that then it's being asked to pose as King Kong for a magazine shoot, and if it's not that then it's not having your resume looked at it because of a black-sounding name, and if it's not that then it's being labeled a thug for expressing yourself through tattoos or fashion, and if it's not that then it's women crossing to the other side of the street or grabbing their partner closer when you're walking down the street towards them, and if it's not that then it's whatever else. I guarantee if you sat down with that couple at the fancy casino and asked them about what their life is like and what examples are relevant to their life you would have been sitting there a while.

Chris Rock wonders how high up that black couple has climbed to get to that place compared to how high you've gotten (watch the whole thing but especially 3:00):

"Do you know what the white man who lives next door to me does for a living? He's a f'ing dentist! He ain't the best dentist in the world...he ain't going to the dental hall of fame...he don't get plaques for getting rid of plaque. He's just a yank-your-tooth-out dentist. See, the black man gotta fly to get to somethin' the white man can walk to."

Jesus Christ your counter argument is referencing two comedians? Now I know why you were begging for money on here and can't find a job.

SOME people upset with the verdict resorted to violent senseless crime.

While many, most, even, have peacefully protested.

Your broad assumptions are hysterical, naive, stereotypical and sadly typical.

As a Native, if African Americans have it sooooo tough here, then LEAVE, pack your sh#t and go back to Africa. How much better would their lives be living there instead of here?

Christ almighty, if they're not the whiniest, most self entitled bunch on the planet...

Nothing worthwhile is ever given to you, you have to earn it...

Landlord, you were like 5 when this happened, but in the early 90's African Americans wanted reparations from the U.S. Gov't for being slaves. If you're on board with that, then there is truly, unequivocally, no hope for you...

Chris Rock is a f'ing moron. Oh, I say funny sh#t on TV so I get to be rich, but the dude who goes through 10 years of rigorous schooling should be inferior if race was taken out of the equation. Uhuh. Phenomenal argument.

When I first heard this, I decided to sue the Queen of England for all the years of serfdom my ancestors endured. I haven't heard back.

Since 2000 58 police officers have been killed by "unarmed" suspects that took the officers gun away from them and killed them with it. Just a stat I heard, it doesn't matter though, LOMS has formed his opinion and he's entitled to it.
