I hope so to, but it’s time for the team to move on from this distraction.   
 

I have seen the same behavior in one or two local athletes. Cannot handle the pressure and the aggression of competition, but nice kids otherwise.  The two I know were in early high school and not older like MM.  His chances are getting smaller the older I get. I was called into to do behavioral assessments on the two. 

 
If this is real... like IDK if no one is telling him but clearly no one has been able to get it through his head: just keep your s#!t together for a few months and you can be collecting NFL paychecks. What a waste...

a report this morning that he was seen at Epply this morning in route to San Francisco. Not sure if there is any truth to it, but definitely a huge loss if true!

Husker reporters locking away generational stories surrounding the coach going home with cheerleaders while reporting the gate of the airport they saw a kid sitting in is peak Nebraska media. 

 
Rhule said in his press conference today that Micah became a backup during the Colorado game (paraphrasing). He said he was a backup "before this happened" and when he came out of the Colorado game, Lutovsky was put ahead of him. He also mentioned him having been suspended.

He also said "you guys talk a lot about him, but he's a backup player for us."



I wonder if the whole not playing and "fight" and his suspension were because he was pissed at being benched due to poor play, or if the comments are kind of re-writing history and he was only a back-up because of his attitude and they decided to just keep him there.

I thought the story was he got into an altercation during the Colorado game and was yanked.  May have been because of poor play but the way it was worded made me think he was getting told something and didn't take it well.

 
Seems like Rhule is trying to soften the blow of him being released from the team in the near future.  It seems less of a disaster to lose a backup than the starter.

This is what I originally assumed but to me it seems like they're trying to change it a bit to "he's just a back up and was 'before all of this.'"

I guess I took it as he got demoted to a backup, then whatever "all of this" was happened which led to the suspension. Supposedly something else happened since Rhule's presser last Wednesday.

I recall Lutovsky was the projected starter in camp, got hurt, and wasn't healed enough to play until CU game.  MM stepped into the starting role because of the injury to Luto.  "He was always the backup" makes sense to me.  But I could be misremembering slightly.

I didn't know this. That would make the comments make more sense.

I believe the 3 of them, Luto, JEJ, & MM were basically competing for the 2 spots.  Spring saw Scott get fewer reps so MM was running a lot of 1st team at LG w/JEJ at C.  Luto was basically out all fall camp, so it fell that way by default, which is how I believe most expected it to fall.  

I won't pretend I know what inspired Rhule to go full coach Prime and publicly put a player in his place, but it seems pretty clear MM blew some pass pro's, & hasn't handled what followed well.   I've seen players with disciplinary issues like this my entire life.  They think a couple days of good behavior undoes what was done.  When they realize the climb is steeper, they spin out again.   It seems obvious that is where MM is today.
