Which Nebraska QB would you choose for Frost's offense?

Yes.

He completed 59.8% of his passes and ran like the wind. I don't give a s#!t what it looked like. Doubt Frost would have made it a deciding factor either.

Frost was MUCH better QB than Martinez.    Obviously he was smart enough to run his own offense.  That is also a key.  Quick decisions.  Frost much better than TMagic.  That's where Gill, Gdowski, Frazier, Berringer, Taylor, Newcombe all shine.   Crouch could also run this offense well.  He wasn't maybe a quick a decision maker at times (he didn't run the option well and that requires great, quick decisions.

I think he was plenty quick/elusive enough for Frost's offense. He wasn't quick/elusive like Frazier but Frazier wasn't the passer Brook was either. You need to be able to do both in this offense and Brook would fit it very well imo.

Newcombe was the fastest QB (maybe player of any position) in Husker history.   He ran like a deer

Not sure why this is a reply to me. I didn't say Martinez was better than Frost. I was mentioning Frost as a coach not making throwing motion a deciding factor for his QB.

Bill Walsh also kind of broke Frost, to a certain extent, as a quarterback. Started toying around with his throwing motion and trying to get him to change his muscle memory. If my memory serves correctly.

Well Walsh was using his considerable experience with quarterbacks to mold Frost into a Pac 10 and NFL quarterback. I don't think he broke Frost, he just realized the kid would be a better safety than a quarterback in his system, and in the NFL. Frost was made for Nebraska. 

Scott Frost would always have been a damn good player and athlete, but if he had the same Nebraska defense that Taylor Martinez had behind him, we probably wouldn't be talking about Scott Frost today.  Honestly not sure how Tommie Frazier would have fared without that incredible pipleline of Offensive Line talent, either.

That's definitely true. And when you only throw 150 times a season, a couple bad games can really drag the average down.

I went with Crouch . I thought he was a more elusive , physical runner than Tmart, and a better passer. The rest on the list were more pass, or run heavy,  i thought Crouch had about the best balance i can remember.

I don't want to relitigate Martinez's entire career, but his mechanics were much improved his last two years after he started working with that Calhoun guy. They were bad his sophomore year because he was hurt. IIRC, he had a bad ankle on one leg and a bad knee or foot on the other.

Yes, that Calhoun guy working with TM for a few weeks made a significant difference and you have to recognize how many injuries TM had to deal with.  I think a healthy TM would wreck **** with Verduzco and Frost developing him long term.

There are 3 QBs on the current roster that are better suited for this offense than T-Mart.  Add the coach and you have 4.

The only guys even in the running are Turner Gill, Steve Taylor, Gerry Gdowski, and Tommie Frazier. All the others were runners or passers but not both, and Frazier is on there mostly because his field presence in second to none.

Crouch's stats are just as balanced and productive, if not more, than any of those guys. He would excel in frosts offense too.
