To add, he’s also adamant about playing fundamentally sound football.Would he keep MJ and Busch?

Isn't Lars the guy who said Campbell would be the next coach?

Speaking of silly season, lets all take a moment to appreciate the ridiculousness of the statement on his hoodie. Intercept Cancer? Give me a break. They're wearing a shirt that is saying Catch Cancer. The NFL is so dumb.It is officially silly season! Lol
14 years college coaching experience30 days D1 head coaching experience
1 national championshipnever beat a ranked team as a head coach
.667 winning percentage in P52-1 D1 record
Excellent recruitergreat position/territory recruiter
Players appear to love himOkay, I'll give you that one
Likeable, no nonsense guy who tells it how it isOkay, this one too![]()
we could do worseGreat guy, but horribly under-qualified
Gus Bradley, the DC for the Colts was mentioned. I’m having mixed thoughts on him.
At least he’d be a better option than the Washington State HC…Lol
Those are obvious to everyone and I agree, he is underqualified. However they are true facts and my last statement holds true- If he maintains a 2/3 winning percentage, it will be hard to justify not going with him imo. It would also place some weird pressure on the new coach if he didn't perform very well. First 2 games of 2023 are on the road vs P5 opponents... not going to be a very easy start to a tenure, especially if he is replacing the homegrown guy that got the job done under very difficult circumstances.Let me just fix that for you...
Why would Klieman leave KSU right now tbh?
Great CEO's have the confidence and the humility to surround themselves with people who are much smarter than they are. Mickey is a leader. I guarantee he would surround himself with an amazing staff to compliment his weaknesses. The recruiting aspect is a huge point. Judging Mickey SOLELY on what he does with an inherited (and fundamentally flawed) roster this season IGNORES the intriguing prospect of what he could do with the kind of team that he can recruit. Who is the last Husker FB coach who was a star recruiter?
I'm hearing Whipple might be dealing with some health issues? I don't think Mickey is interested in play-calling, so he'd have to go out and find an OC. To me, that's a wildcard to consider if he's a legitimate contender.
I'm sure it's in a separate thread, my point is that a new OC is a factor in keeping Mickey. What kind of offense does Mickey want? Who would he go for?
