Who's Leaving? 2024/25 version

I am very much aware of everything. It’s just kind of funny that without Rhule he would’ve been in JUCO or maybe not playing ball at all.

I think even with Rhule but without Knighton he would've dropped out of UNL and the end result is pretty much the same. Hard to sell him on staying without a DL coach, and probably not happening no matter what.

There's something to be said for having an opportunity to build that kind of relationship with another coach and having more awesome support people in your life - with the type of guy Rhule hires it's going to be another great dude as DL coach. But I'm sure Williams is going to follow Knighton.

So I assumed that red shirting was fine, but my question is when are the 105 man rosters final? And what if you lose guys in the spring, which is typical, are they cut and replaced?  In actuality 105 could be a few less by fall

my assumption is it will be 105 by the end of fall camp, but that is based on nothing other than wild a$$ guess.  It would make the most sense, and lines up with the roster "trimming" that happens in the NFL.

So, given the NCAA is doing this.  It will probably be 105 by the start of spring.

IMO, this may be this biggest loss so far!! Rave reviews and was penciled to replace either Nash or Ty. Hopefully we can re-recruit him or restructure his NIL

He would've been more of the Butler role, no way he is going to grow into a nose tackle. Maybe a lighter Ty - but the Ty replacement is Van Poppel, and we don't really have a Nash replacement. But I agree he's potentially the biggest loss, coaches talked him up a lot. Some people are underselling Princewill and James Williams too - they don't have great sack/TFL numbers but their pressure rates (more highly correlated with future sacks than past sack totals) were good.

DL/Jack could be an adventure next year, especially if the new DC is Symons and he wants to wait until after their playoff run. There are potential replacement guys in the portal, but it would help to have their position coach signed and actively recruiting them. I imagine they'll be committing quickly to lock up a spot.

Our d line is going to be a massive problem next year.  Not sure we can wait to hire a DL coach until after the DC given portal guys will be making decisions sooner rather than later

We not only are losing our starters to gradation but now the younger guys that were their backfills, not good

I think a first wave of Van Poppel - Jeudy - Lenhardt with McGahee at Jack is playable. But there's zero depth there (maybe Lefotu takes a step?) and not a lot of pass rush potential.
