Who's Leaving? 2024/25 version

I'd like Boerkircher back, and it's quite possible he's our best TE. But at this point we have way more TEs than we can use. Fidone is better than a lot of people claim, we're clearly promising a decent sized role to Haarberg, gotta think Nelson will outgrow WR and need to be at TE, and Lindenmeyer is an excellent blocker. Something has to give there - potentially multiple somethings to be honest.

Gonna run the 5 TE set.

Surprising destination to me. Thought he’d land in the Big12 (not an insult just a good fit conference wise for his skill set).

That's not a commitment, just a visit announcement. Also kinda disagree on the skill set - if he can't run routes not sure the Big 12 is a great fit. He's an excellent blocker, and incredibly fast. That is unfortunately a very solid fit for Minnesota. He's not going to be Danial Jackson, but he would help their running game and be a constant threat to take the top off of a defense. He adds more value to their offense than he does to ours IMO.

There was a tweet that said he committed to them but it was since deleted. That exact skillset fits Quentin Skinner at KU or Jayden Higgins at Iowa State, two teams that move their tall almost TE but not really TE around all over the field. Higgins has added polish to his route running but I just think Coleman would look good in one of those offenses with multiple WRs on the field at any one time.

Well to be fair, during his time on campus here’s our ranks for passing- pretty much a wash

#68

#128
Difference is that the Minny stats are over 5 years and don’t really get better. NU’s shows a big jump from year 1 to 2. If NU stays around 68+ over the next 2-3, then I would agree the trend would be similar, but IMO it is apples and oranges right now.
