Why the North endzone?

I personally do not understand why they put new seats in the north endzone. Wouldn't adding to the east balcony be better? I know they wanted to add the new athletic complex there but to me (my opinion) I rather sit on the sidelines than 90 rows up in the endzone. But I do agree with the last topic, that any seat is a good seat in good ol' Memorial Stadium. :)

dude i completly agree wit u seems like the east stadium needs more work then the noth endzone

i hope in the 20-50 years they build up the east side and add another huge press box to match the other 1 :horns2 :horns2

why not after our next national title, why wait 20 yrs+

use that revenue from the seventh home game next year

I think they are adding some kind of press box/suites in the north endzone in addition to the 5,000 seats, it still bothers me that they cant add on to the east. Look at the Texas A&M statium, it had 3 levels to its sides, granted its ugly, but better seats.

Ulgy I hear you :clap :clap

Yeah but if we had a 87,000 seat stadium we would lose our consecutive sellout record :rollin :rollin :rollin

The East side must be fixed soon it just doesn't even look right with how tall the west is. A matching East side would be nice. Would that push us over 100K?

I for one, don't mind at least having the exits in the North Stadium updated. anyone that doesn't sit in that end ever notice how long it takes to clear out? NO! because most people are already back in Omaha by the time its cleared!

ok, slight exageration, but only a slight one.

maybe that end worked better with the rest of the project. don't forget this isn't JUST adding on seats, its the whole Osborne Complex project too.

also part of the project is a huge video screen/scoreboard on that end as well. on HI a poster said it was going to be along the lines of what the Baltimore Ravens have.

i checked out the Ravens site to see what they had, here ya go: http://baltimoreravens.com/images/stadium/Sec_140.jpg

An addition to the East end would be nice but this is MUCH MUCH more than just adding seats. actually that seems to be the least of whats being done! take the project drawings for example, the added seats didn't even get its own little picture:

it did on the webcam drawing though- and there's the screen too.

sure the added seats will be crappy, but i'll take this project now over anything else, this is also good for recruit bait!

I dont mind the addition of seats it was an excellent idea, just hope they are planning on the East in the next 5 to 10 years.

the screen would rock and help recruiting believe it or not. is it supposed to wrap the entire length of the southside? is it true it will be the largest known screen in sports or college football that is?

I heard the new screen will be big enough you can actually see it from space. the astronauts want us to get cable for them!!!
:thumbs

we can recruit astronauts then! and a few space cadets from Juco ranks.

the same HI post said it would be larger than what the Ravens have but as i said over on that board- ya don't want anything too huge. The Ravens one looked pretty damn big, i think even that might be pushing it.

from the webcam site though, it looks like it will be half scoreboard/ half screen. plus ad space.

so maybe, the screen won't necessarily be as large as what the Ravens' have but the scoreboard/video thing as a whole will be that big.

i guess we'll know for sure by 2006 or 07?

an East stadium expansion would be a reasonable *next* stadium project. (what else could they do?!) anybody call pedey on it yet?

I agree that the North Endzone exits are crap. I just hope now that there will be more then two rows behind me people don't mind me standing up most of the game.( I don't care really, I'll do it anyway)
