Worse fans of a team

I'm originally from Mobile Alabama. I don't get to go back home as often as I like but normally am down there at least once every 2 years. The majority of the problem with Alabama fans comes at Auburn for obvious reasons and LSU to a lesser degree.

Now i'll share my worse experience with opposing fans. I had just entered the military and reported to basic training at Fort Benning Ga. After a couple weeks of being issued uniforms and finalizing my entrance into the military we were bused to where we would spend 9 weeks of training. On my very 1st day we had to stand at attention and tell our Drill Sargent our name and where we are from. When it was my turn i answer in the correct format (thankfully I wasn't the first one to answer) and when I said Alvo Nebraska. He looked at me and asked if I was a Husker fan. I smiled and said "yes Drill Sargent". Well he was a Colorado fan and made me do push ups. During this my second Drill Sargent walked in asked what I did wrong. He looked at me said "I see per your paperwork you were born in Alabama. So are you a Bama or Auburn fan?" I took a 50/50 guess and said Bama, since I truely root for both. He said well i'm a Florida fan so give me push ups as well. Like I said before that was just day 1. Needless to say I walked out there doing push ups with ease. lol

We took a trip to Denver a year or so ago. I got flipped off randomly 4 times just drivin around. Wife asks why? I say it's simple. We have Nebraska plates. We had been in the Big10 2 years already. It's really quite comical. The overall infatuation is incredible. I'm a really crappy driver.
Fixed it for you

I don't have any problems here in Colorado. They're all mostly consumed by their pro teams.

I think it was worse when I was going to college in Iowa BEFORE we even moved to the B1G. I got sh#t all time for wearing Husker gear.
)
There really isn't any difference between Iowa, Missouri, and Colorado fans. All the same peas in a pod. Their teams all wear some variation of gold , piss yellow, and black. All are jealous as hell of Nebraska and our team, and have severe little brother syndrome. All are pretty horrible fan bases. You can throw in Iowa state fans, too.

One game I attended at Missouri included the Missouri student section pulling Lil' Red halfway into the stands and beating on him. The second half was a parade of Mizzou students being escorted out by campus security. That's tough to beat.
That's why they were all getting escorted out? I di not know that. LMAO!!

Freaking seriously? This is why I want Mizzou in the Big Ten, reclaim their rightful place as our beach.

I think the escorting out probably had more to do with the alcohol consumption and other assorted tomfoolery with the assault of Lil' Red being the most glaring offense.

If only someone woulda poked a hole and killed that damn thing, my opinion of Mizzou fans would totally have redeemed itself..

It woulda been a "hey, they are good for somethin" kinda a deal.

For me it's Iowa fans, low class, loud mouthed, beat their chests having done nothing to deserve that, annoying, classless, the list goes on and on. I really don't care about your little team Iowa fan. GFY.....

So is the infatuation with justifying our fandom and the mocking of others.
I truly do not understand why so many people have to do it. We're. Nebraska, let's just focus on fixing us

We partied with Michigan fans at the bars in Ann Arbor and then sat in their student section for the game. We didn't get bothered once and they all were super friendly. I'd go back again for sure.

I think the infatuation was directed at their hate towards us, not their infatuation with their team. Fanbases beating on our mascot is justifiable to mock them. Fanbases throwing things at others is justifiable to mock them.
Sorry, this discussion has nothing to do with Bo or our programs direction.

I live in Iowa, Des Moines to be exact, car has never been vandalized. I also wear Husker gear all the time, never get heckled. Same when I go to Ames for work.

As for Iowa City, I have been there numerous times, been to the bars (which is quite amazing). Never had an issue. My truck also has a Huskers front plate, which you would think would be ripped off, but never touched. I did get the occasional remark about losing to them, but you have to expect that ANYWHERE you go, if your outside of your college state.

But he had to at least try to turn it that way.

My family moved to Olympia, Washington in '90. It wasn't easy growing up there, '97/'98 helped a little. It took until my last few years out there that I met a Husky fan that wasn't a prick about Nebraska.
