WOW THIS IS BIG

Perhaps since BC wants all the money we should leave him on for the full five years, only his new head coaching job would be cleaning bathrooms with his buddy Cosgrove. They would be high priced janitors but we could at least get the toilets cleaned.

Good riddance. This should he stay? or should he go? stuff is not good for anybody and it will not cease until the inevitable happens. I'm not saying we shouldn't talk about it only that something definitive needs to happen so the Program and its fans can move forward. How can five more weeks of this serve anyone's interests, except perhaps for Callahan if he indeed is shamelessly holding out for more money that he obviously hasn't earned?
This I agree with, but unfortunately we are not dealing with a weenie here. Callahan is pissed (I think that everyone can agree to that), and he will not leave without his pound of flesh. If these God-like "boosters" have gone so far as to virtually wipe out the balance of the football season, they should just fire BC and get it over with.

Unless Osborne won't do it.

And that would be a mystery, wouldn't it? I could actually imagine Osborne giving Callahan until the end of the season to do his thing--I do believe that Osborne likes to be known as being a man of his word, and he did say that he would wait.

But Callahan is clearly antagonizing him.

At this point, I believe that Osborne could fire him for "unspecified issues." But it would cost him, and that would mean that Callahan wins.

Interesting indeed, but I actually do wish that Callahan would just go. What's done is done, and it is irreversable.
He's pissed?!??!?!?!? He took a respectable football program, and in less than 4 years, has managed to run it into the ground. Before he got here, things might have not been perfect, but at least we didn't have an egomaniac at the helm, wanting to put his "brand" on the Husker legacy.

He might as well have a mask and rob the boosters at gunpoint. The fact that he said he's not going to resign, is all the more reason to fire him. He's arrogant and an all around bad coach.

It could be that TO is just a LITTLE BIT SMARTER THAN Pud, and wants to have his ducks in a row BEFORE he cans him so that he doesn't have to run around like a chicken without a head trying to find a coach!!! Hmmmm, there's a thought.........

Sorry, this should have gone here....

Solly is a credible source, and was the first to break the news about the Steve Pederson firing early Sunday evening before it happened.
This is EXACTLY what I have been alluding to, but most on this board seem to be fine with it.

Welcome to Alabama. Nebraska has become the Crimson Tide, and this implosion will be the talk of the nation for years to come. It's bad, it's real bad.
Wow, and I was hoping you were in a gulag in Siberia...

You're timing although, I will say is impecable. Everytime its about to hit the fan, your arrival on the "naysayer bus" is timely...
Exactly. This time next year the talking heads will be saying "look at NU they are back to themselves and blah, blah, blah" this year is just a tick in time on the NU clock.

He manages to show up at all the right times, when we want to hear from him the least...

How about this everyone. Do not fire Callahan.

Change his job description to include:

Janitorial service at the Chancellor's residence, Governor's Mansion, TO's home, and the whole 95 team's homes. Plus polish all 14 levels of steps in the Capital Building. Hire a Head Coach Administrative Aide to preside over the team until BC's current contract is over. But there has to be a "adequate performance clause" with all those cleaning duties. One water spot or untended stain. . . .GONE. No parachute, nuthin'.

Maybe additional duties as determined to include but not limited to detasselling(no not strippers, corn) baling of hay, dehorning calves and branding. Gettin' a feel for Nebraska now, hmmmmm.

I say he walks.

I don't think that this year is a life altering event. We will be fine and win lots of games. This year however has more people interested in the BIG RED than any other year since TO retired. Heck, it might even be good for our our program in the long run(in a weird kind of way). We can always learn from this mistake.

At least we had something to screw up. How many other D1 teams can say that? F the "world has come to end and all is lost" BS.

Did anyone that went to the game on saturday see how it looked like callahan didnt even give two craps during the tunnel walk?? Not saying he ever really does but this tunnel walk he looked even more like he didnt care about the game or anything.. I think he has given up on his job... I hope all this is true an get his a$$ out of here an bring in someone that will give us a chance to win the rest of the games...
I noticed this right off the bat. The same way he showed up at the press conference last week without any husker garb.

Cally is just buying his time, going through the motions. Everyone and I mean everyone knows he is gone. Not if, but when
Callahan has had enough of the zoo, and now he is just daring Osborne to fire him. He does not hold him in any special regard; like any other coach would feel, he strongly objects to having a 70-year old retiree looking over his shoulder, and he still has enough pride that he will not let Os walk all over him.

BC knows that he is gone. At this point, he is more than happy to stick it to NU fans; he certainly feels no affinity to them after all of this. Right now, it is a battle of cajones between Callahan and Osborne, and we shall see who wins. My money is on Callahan.

As I have said, this is like an episode of The Twilight Zone.
Did you say something? Nobody cares :laughpound

Off the subject here. If any of you are watching the NFL game right now, did you see the sideline reporter???? They at least used to put eye candy on the field. That thing looks like a man. Yikes!

You mean Suzy Kolber?
I think there are two sideline reporters and I think Suzy Kolber is kind of hot, so it's the other one.
Michelle Tafoya??

I saw Suzy Kolber, and looks like somebody glued hay to her head...
