I'm not sure what this staff is doing on the recruiting trail. Adding a mid 3* receiver to a WR room with 11 current players seems odd.
Probably because they think he's good and will help the team.

Scott Frost probably thought the same thing about the two dozen other WRs he's recruited out of high school to come to Nebraska, none of whom have made an impact, with the highest rated ones transferring.Probably because they think he's good and will help the team.
So what kind of recruiting system does Frost have? How can he ‘miss’ on so many? Aren’t they evaluating them or just following the gurus and other schools around or what? I can understand a few flops in the first class or even two, but we are 4 1/2 years in. Loads of time to study and watch and get to know players. Something is really not right. It’s tough to recruit when you’re losing and Frost is definitely losing a lot. But the WRs as a group are probably the highest rated position group over the Frost era - still not one real ‘hit’. Can only blame assistant coaches so much - Frost hired them and knew them well. Now Mickey is having issues? The program is in dire straits I think.Yeah, I was just reading that from another source as well. Sounds like Joseph hasn't been impressed with Grimes and Hardy. So maybe we are/would take five WRs.
That’s probably it— the losing doesn’t help at all. They will probably need a reasonably good season with maybe at least nine wins to improve HC recruiting. In the meantime they may still need to continue some with the transfer portal. But they need to win now.So what kind of recruiting system does Frost have? How can he ‘miss’ on so many? It could be that Frost’s complex passing game is just over the heads of most guys. It sure seems the WRs have been more than adequate as pure athletic skills are concerned. The QB has been the same so there has been enough time to sync up with some anyway. Still it just never happened, except Toure as a one year transfer. He was not highly rated but proved you don’t have to be an elite track speedster. Just run routes and catch the ball. Idk. It’s a mystery. I’d hoped we’d be a run based offense with passing complement but I guess we will continue to live or die via the pass. That’s probably it— the losing doesn’t help at all.
