Logically speaking, however, LSU holds a unique edge in this race. For one, Moore grew up a fan of the team. He grew up less than six hours away from Tiger Stadium, giving the out-of-state power a small advantage over the Aggies and Longhorns.

Only LSU and Florida State have offered Moore the ability to compete in both football and track. As much of a star as Moore is on the gridiron, he’s equally competitive when it comes to running, which has allowed those two programs to separate from others over the past few months.

And then there’s the priority treatment. LSU is in desperate need of depth at the wide receiver position, and that opportunity is brought up frequently when Moore speaks to wide receivers coach Mickey Joseph.

Time and time again, Moore has woken up to 70 messages from multiple members of the LSU coaching staff. So has his mother and his coach at IMG Academy (Fla.). The communication has been consistent, too.

Florida State emerged as the early leader for Moore during his visits to multiple campuses this spring. LSU garnered momentum after a visit for national junior day before Nebraska jumped into the mix as a power player after hosting the 4-star recruit for its spring game.

Top three of LSU, Florida State and Nebraska? Perhaps. The question is whether the opportunities available to Moore and his childhood fandom can put the Tigers ahead of the pack.

The countdown to June 18 is on.
