NEXT FIVE OFFENSE
Malachi Coleman, WR- Nebraska
Coleman is one of the freakier athletes in this year’s event. He’s all of 6-3.5, pushing 200 pounds and can RUN. He’s an explosive kid and has had multiple acrobatic catches showing off a nice catch radius. He has a track background and just narrowly lost to Branch in the fastest man competition but what impressed us this week is he’s not just a straight line guy but has some wiggle in his game too. He has all the tools to be an immediate impact player for the Huskers.

I didn't see this in here, but apparently he was going to play CB at Georgia if he didn't come here. It's crazy that you could make a case for him playing just about any defensive position outside of interior DL or MLB.

There was a lot of buzz late for Colorado but Coleman said he when he de-committed from Nebraska, he was planning to flip to Georgia and play corner. He did take a late visit to Colorado and the Buffs gave him a lot to think about.

I was thinking he would probably be better suited to the defensive side of the ball.  But it sounds like he has really showed well as a WR at the All-Star games so I'm thinking he'll stay offense now.

I know he has speed for days but nobody really talks about his route-running skills or his blocking as a wr.  Maybe that's why he wasn't a 5 star player but I certainly think he is.

Yeah, I saw a couple write-ups mentioning he looked natural as a WR and wasn't just the straight line guy they expected. He's got an incredible ceiling no matter where you put him, and he doesn't have to add a bunch of weight (Edge, TE). Technique will always need to step up in college but he's already more polished as a WR than as a DB. I'm sure he could do it but high school WR/DE to SEC CB would've been a challenging adjustment.

I’m pleasantly surprised how Malachi has been performing at these camps. It seems more and more plausible that Coleman could get on the field at least a little bit year one.

I’m still cautiously optimistic with him, but even I have to admit the highlights are impressive.
