I'm interested to hear more about this one. Kid can obviously run, but how often does a player come out of camps without getting rated?

Don’t think it does. No coaches have liked or tweeted about his commit. Even the recruiting services are in the dark here

247 mod said walk-on as well. It's a solid addition. We'll have a super star wide receiver room with Kade and this kid out there running the walk-on show..

In all honesty though, walk-ons seem like they are getting a mixed reaction from fans at this point. There's the crowd that thinks you can't build a contender if walk-ons are getting in the mix and the crowd that thinks you can find 1-2 diamonds in the rough and fill them into your depth chart when misses happen with scholarship players and contend.

I'm in the 2nd group. There are a lot of teams I think that would love to have a guy like Kade Warner in the rotation for receiver. If nothing else, this kid helps because he can give a look in practice and give a good representation of speed we'll see in games. Welcome aboard kid!

Back to this kid. Its probably why we have 4 pages of posting about this kid. Why did we create a thread for him and tag him with the other scholarship commits. None of the other walk ons have a thread. Guessing thats why we are all debating him.

The thread was created way before he committed and when he did commit no one was sure if he was a scholarship player or not. But I agree, this conversation should be in a different thread. Talking about Matthias, it's an upside athletic kid that can hopefully at least give good looks in practice, and maybe carve a niche role on the team. If not, hopefully he has a great career in track and he doesn't hit the scholarship number

He received a Nebraska Track Scholarship and also playing Football as 2nd Sport at Nebraska. Doesn't count against the 85 football scholarship until he sees playing time.
