Zone and man defenses

I would say that we were playing zone about 80 percent of the time, and the man the other 20. We also were using a more selective blitz package, where we never really blitzed more than 5 or 6 at the most, but the blitz came from somewhere else on every play. I saw a couple of corner/safety blitzes, and alot of OLB blitzes.
Why did they not play more zone last year <_< I wonder??
Wouldnt a good coach switch things up like coz did?
Yep, too bad he didnt last year, that why he had 70 hung on him by Tech.
Oh your just suppose to up and switch everything in a week :wtf :wtf
No, actually, a GOOD coach would have more than a couple of coverages to throw in there, and a GOOD coach would have made adjustments during the game to stop the bleeding.

Coz said they played mostly zone, only played about 5 packages. With Wake coming in, the players will have wristbands on to get coverages from the sidelines, because Wake apparently runs a lot of no huddle. We're fortunately deep this year up front and stopping the run is a strength, so that should help against Wake.

FF, your comebacks continue to be the same.
Which is probably why you continually try to butt head with me, and get shown up :box

I could care less if we went 5-6. I could care less if we go 1-10 this year. If in the long run it means being able to actually open up the offense and not have 10 men stacking the box or no passing game,
Thats where you and I differ. I am about WINNING and couldnt give a rats behind what offense was used as long as it works, and it is dominant. I dont care if a team puts 11 guys in the box and we run as long as it works, and I dont care if we are passing and it works. Opening up the offense is about results, which this offense hasnt had.

10 years or 20 years down the line when we have a new coach, we will be saying "no one ran the West Coast offense like Callahan did".
The way billy c's offense has produced, thats a GOOD thing :thumbs

Proof is in the pudding and the option is dead.
Worked pretty good in 97. Not bad in 99 or 01, either. :dumdum

1 measly touchdown against Northwestern is all the proof i need. The same team we pounded 66-17, Solich could only muster 1 offensive touchdown against them.
What?? Huh :wtf Am I missing something here?? So NU scored 66 points against a team but only had 1 offensive TD in that game?? :wtf are you talking about??

I think he was talking about Frank's game last week against NW.

Oh, I see. Man, even with all of Nameless' bad attempts, that one is an all time horrible post,

:lame

Guys, quit all of this playground crap and get back to what the thread was about, which is not why Cosgrove did or didnt play zone last year, but about what he has done this year. Quit living in the past.
