Binders-deal or no deal

Give me the quote where he says he filled his cabinet with the the non best qualified person for the job because she is a women.

"I made a point of filling my cabinet with women, ignoring the fact that they weren't the most qualified candidates. I wanted women, not men, to comply with Affirmative Action."

-Mitt Romney, January 2, 2003

Note - The above quote is fabricated.

Knapp, it says in your article they gave the binders to the administration several weeks after the election was over to his Lt. Governor. So his chief of staff and Lt. Governor were women, long before they offered him any binders. And several weeks after he won the election they gave his admin. binders full of female applicants. I doubt her party affiliation had anything to do with the timeline she presents. I doubt Romney waited weeks before putting together his "team".

I almost crapped my pants. +1. like politicians are honest.

Give me the quote where he says he filled his cabinet with the the non best qualified person for the job because she is a women. I have responded to you claims that he wanted to stock his cabinet with women, I came back and said only if they were the best person for the job. If they were not the best person for the job, and got it based on their gender, the Romney administration would have discrimination claims leveled against it. Do you have any proof that the best person was not hired? No I didn't think so.
why am i arguing this? i do not care, so this is it.

give me the quote where he says he filled his cabinet with the best qualified person for the job. i have responded to your claims that he wanted to stock his cabinet with women, i came back and said that he only talked about qualified male and female candidates. hiring is mostly subjective, good luck proving you did not receive a job because of discrimination, especially when the other candidate is equally (or even just) qualified. how many discrimination cases do you think are successful against governors (and the idea of a discrimination-hiring case seems to be your only evidence). do you have any proof that romney had two equally qualified candidates and decided to hire the female to diversify? no, i did not think so.

I am glad that people are guilty until proven innocent in the USA still. I don't need quotes or proof, beyond that no one complained or sued him for discrimination. You obviously don't think women are qualified to hold a real job, and they got the job only to fill the quota. So be it.

My wife was more upset by his comments about women needing to get home to cook supper.
I texted my mom about that right after it was said. I didn't care about the binders.
May I ask you as a woman, why that bothers you? or I guess if it did(i wasn't clear on your position)?
It didn't bother me much. I mostly found it funny. I guess since I said "I didn't care about the binders," I implied that I did care about the dinner comment.

That being said, why should the woman be the one who leaves work early to go cook dinner? Why don't the husband and wife make it together or take turns? My grandma used to always ask me if I had cooked dinner for my brothers when we got home from school, but she came from a generation where most women didn't work. For the record, I don't even mind cooking dinner. The man can mow the lawn. I've mowed a lot of lawn in my day and I prefer the food-making.

have you read anything i posted? seriously. also, i am impressed with your innate knowledge of the massachusetts' division of labor complaints' file and discrimination docket.

For the record, I cook dinner and mow the lawn. My wife cannot mow the lawn, according to her, and when she used to cook it was inedible.

I, too, have mowed a lot of lawn in my life, and I, too, prefer the food-making. And the wine-drinking that goes along with the food-making.

haha, I agree about the cooking thing being unisex now a days. I was just trying to see how women in general felt about it. Seems like some people have overblown the statement and some brushed it aside. I kinda fall in the middle, poorly worded, but was trying to say that some employees (not just women) are going to need more flexibility in schedules, and employers need to be able to give them that in order to stay competitive. I think he would have been better off, just saying she wanted more time with her family and we gave her a more flexible schedule that worked for us both.

I love cooking and really I like mowing the law. But I hate to garden, grr plants that look like weeds and are really not.

haha, i love mowing, its so relaxing. Making dinner that people enjoy is right up there with making people smile and laugh. Generating good emotions is always a plus.
