Thread of Hate

I hate teaching my freshman class more days than not. It's a class full of defiant jerks whose only mission every day is to see how much they can tick their teachers off.
Fail them all
They've been tiptoeing that line for a while now.
Then the low-life parents will call for your job. No-win situation.
So far, the parents I have called over discipline issues have been very supportive of the discipline. A couple hardly even cared what their kid did, but were super angry over them getting in trouble in the first place.

I give a small amount of lee-way to freshmen because their hormone levels are at their peak right now and are naturally wired. Like last year, I had a few kids that were a pain in the butt (not as much as the current ones) and this year, they had time to mature a little and are a couple of my best students. This year's group has about 6 kids that need smacked so damn hard that they can't think straight. So it's frustrating the limitations on my discipline...

Jeez Woman just because you had a sh#t day at work doesn't mean you should come home and take it out on me
My guess is you had it coming!

Just got done grading the test that my freshmen took. Total lack of effort every single day from these kids because they think it looks cool. Pisses me off because each and every one of them is capable of so much, and yet they think they can just scoot and not give a damn. It makes me wish I was a teacher in the 50s or 60s so when students are being pricks I could crack them with a yard stick...

You still can...

I hate being old enough to have nose hairs. Those things are annoying a f#*k, look nasty, and make me sneeze when I yank them out.

I have a pet nose hair that grows to nearly an inch. I purposely allow this thing to go because it annoys the hell out of my wife. She cuts it while I sleep. I swear by it, because now and then it'll be gone. I also have this runaway back hair that'll get to 2-3 inches long before she comes along and rips it out. I'm not a hairy person by any means, so i suppose one 3-inch long hair on a bare back does look rather odd, but it's something I'm proud of.

Is any of this weird?

Pretty sure you went past weird at the first sentence. I have no idea how to describe the rest of it.

I recommend using a taser. That might get their attention.

exactly, it's 2013...we don't use a freaking yard stick anymore. Taser!!

or there's got to be a way to set up a fake facebook account w/ a pick of a hot girl you say is from a nearby town, then use "her" to manipulate them into getting good grades. not sure how it would work, but if they can bully kids w/ fake accounts, surely we can figure out a way to use one for a positive. it'd prolly get you fired regardless of your intention though so prolly bad idea.
