losing recruits to Michigan?

I bet reuben is gone. IMO, Matt Snyder is 50/50. Good chance Daishon sticks with NU, I think he will.

Wonder who harbah offers next? I think the davis twins, stanley morgan, snyder, barnett, gaylord, reuben jones are the most important ones to keep (that are left unsigned) based on current roster depth and talent

What does Michigan offer that Nebraska doesn't?

Nebraska seems like the obvious choice for these kids but young kids do dumb sh#t all the time. Committing to Michigan would just go on the list of dumb stuff to do. It won't be the last mistake they ever make.

Gonna be tough for Michigan to ever even sniff a conference championship game.

By the way, why do they even list that Rueben Jones kid as a Husker commit. From that comment in the article it seems pretty clear he's deciding between Louisville or Michigan? Any answer to that?
I asked this one day and I opened myself up to a sh#tstorm of rhetoric, blind perception, and population bullsh#t. And that's pretty much all it was. It was laughable to the point that I was speechless and walked away. Nothing anyone said answered my question.

It doesn't matter what they do have, it matters what people believe they have. Even if it's bullsh#t, if people believe it, that's a problem for us, and it's obvious that people believe it, because a lot more people live there, and they always out-recruit us.

Regardless, they still have more to offer even just as a state without going into anything related to the football program.

They have a lot more people. People like that. They also have more dense population. More people + same amount of space = more people nearby = more cute girls/more friends/more jobs/etc.

They have 21 cities with 70,000+ people compared to our 2.

They have professional sports teams.

They draw more things like bands, plays, musicals and other touring events and also more frequently.

They've got a better university and university system and college selection as a whole.

They have a lite version of an ocean.

They have less conservative government and more diverse population.

They have casinos.

They have huge music festivals.

They have a legitimate amusement park.

And they're close to other states that have more of the same.
Jim Harbaugh? Is that you?

If they weren't considering Michigan,of they read that, they are now. Nice sales pitch.

I joke.

How far is Ann Arbor from the nearest amusement park compared to Worlds of Fun from Lincoln?

And even thought theyre across the river (or ON the river if you will), there are legit casinos just 40 minutes down the road from Lincoln.

If they don't really, really want to be N, then wipe 'em off the wall, wish then well and make them regret their choice later. Don't have time for coddling somebody who doesn't want to be here, or who openly expresses second thoughts a year or two into the program.

Probably not a popular opinion, but at this late date, I would tell NU commits that if they go tripping now their offer is pulled so we can still have time to fill the spot before the 4th.

There's a big difference between a visit from Jim Harbaugh and a visit from Mike Riley.
Almost as big as if they are completely different people.
Both have zero national titles and zero super bowl wins
One didn't need a portion of its fan base to do a Google search to find out who he was.
pI didnt. I'd say that would be more of an indictment on the greatest fans of college football than Mike Riley.
I don't notice a lot of OSU games on TV each Saturday. I do enjoy college football, but I am only obsessive about the Huskers. I would say your average college football fan isn't going to watch Oregon State play unless it's against their favorite team. I certainly don't recall seeing much Beaver football on Gameday or The Wrap up Shows. I do remember seeing Jim Harbaugh in the Super Bowl. So I do think it's not unlikely that your average football fan outside of the PAC wasn't sure who Mike Riley was. Or if they did know the name and school, they didn't know much else.

Like I said, regardless of what tangible benefits ACTUALLY exist, it's a matter of perception.

Michigan can say "we have ________", and it's perceived as "oh Michigan has that!". Nebraska says "oh yeah well that's only like a few hours away in Iowa!" and it's perceived as "Nebraska doesn't have as much."

im not being serious. And you mentioned liberal govt as a recruiting draw. So im assuming (and praying) that youre not being serious sbout this list as well

No high school kid is going to cite difference in government as a reason for choosing one school/state over the other.

But it's a small cog, among many other small cogs, that go towards shaping perceptions of certain places being better to live than others.

I can't believe some comments. Michigan has a lot to offer. So does NU. Each prospect has to decide where he wants to play. Simple as that.
