Have always had immense respect for carl, but he's pretty far into his conspiracy theory stuff here.

He probably remains convinced -- or at least suspicious -- that an HB admin used his board password to access his personal email. Apparently, those are actually the kinds of rumors that have made their rounds among the disgruntled ex-members. I've explained to him that this isn't technically even feasible. Oh well.

 
I think he just wants to be considered one of the "in" crowd over on the hlr site. But when he is still hangin' out here,

Well, he is a lawyer....

But no, he's gone off the deep end. Also, comparing an informational site like Huskermax, specifically the stats page, is a "little" different than saying "come check out our message board.

 
What I've come to realize is that you can't discuss matters rationally with anyone that has aligned with that site. There's no use trying. If they want to complain about Huskerboard - too bad. I'm not going to debate them. They have their own playground - they can go play there.

The reason they don't is that there's very little over there to keep them interested or engaged. They desperately need more members - hence, the reason they are trying to promote their board here.

The latest from carlfence. Not sure he just doesn't get it, or he wants to be banned so he can argue. Too bad he doesn't realize the difference between promotion and citing a source. And he's supposed to be a lawyer...

In true lawyer fashion Carlfense seeks to shift the dialog of the argument in his PM. LINK Rather than going down that rabbit hole of reasoning, I would be inclined to answer with a terse response. Something like this:

Carlfense,

We appreciate you as a valued member of Huskerboard. You are welcome to post here any time. So long as you follow the rules.

Does anyone feel like explaining to him, once again, that it's simply about not being a platform for them to advertise?

I'm running out of nice ways to say this.

 
Don't reply at all. NUance is precisely right - he's pulling two old lawyer tricks. First, he subtley changes the argument with each response. Second, he implies that what we are doing is somehow wrong - ethically or morally. He knows precisely what we're doing, and he knows precisely why.

He's said his piece, and we've said ours. This had nothing to do with any Carlfence seeking any genuine understanding. Ignore him.

Naw, that was an excellent response. Friendly tenor. Responded to Carl's slam of Saunders. (Ha ha!) And left the door open for Carlfense to come back someday.
