Douchebag Thread for Politics & Religion Spill Over

We have some pretty good debates in status updates from time to time, and not just about politics. Often a lengthy exchange will spawn a thread (hopefully not in the 'Shed, though). It's hard to type a long response in the statuses and you don't get any feedback about when you're hitting the character limit.

Simple fact is, it was a true statement that Trump made. One of the very few true statements he's ever made I might add.
Not to steer this away from the interpersonal spat portion of the program again, but I do think condensing it to this is problematic. I know you know what I mean, but without that context this statement looks like "hey, this is one of the few times Trump is saying the right stuff." There are probably actual examples of that.
IMO, there is a fairly large difference between saying a statement is true and if the person saying it, especially when it's Trump, is saying the right stuff for the right reasons. I thought it was pretty clear how Redux intended it and how I took it compared to how some others took it. I'm just disappointed a few hereabouts refuse to see it the way I know it was meant. But I'll get over it. I've probably also been a stubborn butthead myself before. We have to create things to do in the off season and what better way than filling 4 pages with utter bullsh#t.

You really think "How is it better?" and "I guess I don't see the problem" are statements made by someone not wanting to discuss the issue and that people (zoogs) should not have responded? Because that's what I'm getting from the bold.
Or is that your thought because it was Redux who posted it and you're basing it off his previous political discussions?

I just don't see how Redux's comments can be taken to mean anything other than that he really didn't understand why people were commenting on what Trump said.

The fact he thinks covering millions more people does not bring us closer to UHC, when it's a 100% fact, further solidified that.

If you can't see it yet, after these 4 pages, nothing I say now is going to help.

I can't see ghosts either.

Here, glad I could help.

Who is this Trump fellow you guys keep discussing?
If there was any justice in this world, Moiraines biologocal father.
He died and I have no memories of him except for jumping on his empty hospital bed but thanks for the comment.

Not that you'll see this, since you got a sandy urethra and put me on ignore over a Woodshed post.

Genuinely, my condolences. I know my fair share of loss and parental ups and downs. So sincerely, I appologize for bringing up any bad memories.

Now, as you so eloquently put, I did not block you because of sand in my urethra. Please understand the above post was the first one I was tempted to view after ignoring you. I blocked you because you get on my nerves. I blocked you because you generally have nothing but sass to throw my direction, and not in a haha kind of way. I blocked you because most of your posts come off snotty, and snotty attitudes put me in a bad mood. I blocked you because I have a hard time imagining you with a smile on your face. I blocked you because you have an incredibly difficult time seeing things from perspectives you don't agree with 100%. I'm seriously not trying to be a d!(k, but I'm sure I am coming off that way. I hope that cleared things up. Honestly, if there was a way for me to block you from seeing my posts I would have opted for that option instead.

Not like a d!(k. Just like someone who's completely misread me. The smile part is cracking me up.

Also, I don't dislike you except in political discussions. It's just that... back at ya, you get on my last nerve when you join them.

Holy sh#t. This is crazy.

Redux. I read through your comments on page 1.

I hear you man.

I actually enjoyed this board more when Polo was around to fight with. The admin/mod change and purge/purge2.0 has really turned me off of this board. I barely come around anymore and when I do, I lurk for 3 mins and go back to what I was doing.

It's not fun to read status updates about politics and seeing Knapp complain every day about Trump as if he's changing the world by changing everyone's mind. The term echo chamber has been used about this board a bunch and it's no different. The ones that get upset at that term are the ones that cause this to be an echo chamber. I am starting to wish Trump wasn't elected for the sole purpose of Knapp being able to sleep at night. I worry about him with the way he carries on all the time on HB and Twitter.

Kudos to you Redux for standing up, but it's best to just let it go. They don't stop. I had a female roommate at one time literally scream at me every time I called her a "close minded liberal". Which is what they all are. They can say they are open minded all they want but that's the biggest bunch of BS I've ever heard.

Rant off/
