Dewiz

Dewiz is kind of a disgusting person IMO. It's sad to see. I don't think this crosses board rules lines. He's making an a$$ of himself and he's basically free to do that, I think.

I don't mind politics spillover too much, but I understand the complaints. For me, as much as sports is an escape there are times when enforced numbness is *not* impartial. I think these are some good guidelines, but perhaps keep them to suggestions that aren't enforced by a heavy hand -- except in cases where it gets out of hand.

Tom, I gather you've gotten Lance's PM about this already since you seemed to have taken care of it. But in case anyone didn't know, mods are the only ones who can see the +1s and as long as this is true we definitely should avoid outing folks.

Maybe the red flag goes to the instigator, and everyone else gets a yellow. Personally, I don't mind the political conversation, but BRI has a point about the focus of the board may be being overshadowed a little at the moment.

I think "at the moment" is a good point. It's the offseason. *Something* is going to take the limelight as the topic of contention. If it wasn't politics it would be something else. Fortunately we'll have football news in a few weeks and all this political crap will be pushed to the background. In the mean time maybe BRI's suggestion to keep political stuff out of the statuses would be a good idea.

The peanut butter sandwich comment. We can all agree that it's in poor taste. But that comment is no worse than other Woodshed banter. It's only getting attention because of Dewiz' other garbage.

Finally, the +1 to the peanut butter sandwich comment. Agreed that we should not out people over +1s. It's oddly aggressive that Lance would inquire about this. I wonder who he thought gave the +1?

Honest mistake on my part. I forgot it was a mod only feature.

As far as Dewiz goes. I know he has been getting some heat lately, but I was not considering any of that when I raised this recent comment to everyone's attention. This comment is obviously misogynistic, and that is why I thought it may cross a line, even in the Shed. If no one thinks it violates board rules, that's fine with me. The Shed can be rough, and everyone going in there is made aware of that.

Lance only inquired about who gave the +1 so he'd know and have the opportunity to bring it up later on to that person. That's my opinion of course, but he still craves the "power" that comes with being a mod at times and if he can't direct the boards discussion it drives him nuts.

 
Lance knew who it was because we named him in the post that's now removed. He advised to remove that post ASAP because he feels it's not prudent to advertise the ability.

 
I missed that post, I don't spend a ton of time scouring the boards in the off-season. I still stand by what I said though about Lance. It sounded like this was sent through a PM when I initially read it. My bad....
