Douschebag Hall of Fame

Hey, I'm not really interested in the details here
default_biggrin.png
Sorry, I don't like getting my details from a group of posters who routinely hound others with opposing views until they concede their opinion out of spite or quit posting. To each their own though.
And this shows the ignorance. Conversations routinely end with disagreement. I've agreed to disagree with LL. Zoogs and Moiraine routinely do with JJ and BRI. BRB and myself have said we agree with something Trump did and nobody jumped down our throats. And I'm not very eloquent in getting my thoughts out

And some times people tlget confused by that. If your logic is flawed or someone can't understand, expect to get flak, you can take that criticism and learn, or leave it.
You sure enjoy throwing that ignorance line out as a way to call people stupid then claim it's not an insult. And the reason you don't get sh#t on is because you are normally in that group doing the pooping. More power to ya man.
You sure do like to be the victim. Ignorance is not an insult, and it is not calling someone stupid. It simply means you don't know something. I'm ignorant about a lot of things like anybody else. You are clearly ignorant of a lot of the going ons in P&R. That's ok though. I'm just shinning light on what you haven't seen yet. If you recall I've defended your opinions in there before when they were pretty unpopular. I don't get sh#t on because I'm willing to discuss my position, not back away when I'm challenged. I've been made took look foolish plenty of times in there, but I enjoy the debates and the learning that comes with it.
Yes I know what ignorance means. I also know you throw it around a lot because you keep saying it isn't insulting even though the way you use it can be insulting.
And really? "Shining light of what I haven't seen yet" Man, come on. Lmao.

Not playing the victim here, I'm defending my position while you all throw your shots. Same as I have before, same as many others do. I'm not backing away. This all started because I wanted some clarification on why Moiraine took offense to the DBPR thread. Once I realized I wasn't getting that clarification, I dropped it. Then it turned into Zoogs, Knapp and now you jumping in to either a) make pot shots at me for not being a PR guy (zoogs) b) defend Moiraine because they met in real life (knapp) or c) follow the leaders (ZRod).

I'm not even mad or remotely surprised this whole thing went tits up like this. It's the standard.

Dissecting an argument isn't "pooping on" someone.Though, perhaps the same couldn't be said for bagging on others for "jumping to conclusions" and "hounding others". It's funny how those who like to be the one landing punches can perceive themselves as bullied when others push back on the barbs. It may not be clear all the time and I do apologize if it's not, but disagreement on points is not personal.
I know you don't think you guys jump on someone, and I'm not going to try to convince you that you do. I'm just saying I have talked with several other posters who agree. Not asking for change, just saying be aware of it.

For someone who's unfairly victimized, you sure spend a lot of your energy tossing mud at or protesting others. Maybe do that less if you don't want to get pushback?

By the way, I'm only saying it's not personal. I would hope a woeful or fallacious argument does get jumped on. What do you expect, people to just agree?

People still use facebook?

I don't think I have looked at it in two years. Twitter and Snapchat. I don't ever use Instagram either
Facebook just went over the 2 billion mark.

I use Twitter & Snapchat more than anything else.
Yeah, I heard that. I wonder how many are dead accounts and I know, just from teaching, that if you are in high school or younger you do not use facebook, in fact, they hate it because their parents use it...so to them it is lame. So if I mention facebook in class that is the response I get "People still use it?!"

It is like smoking...you gotta get them started young! haha

Unscientific study...in the last 3 years when I have asked all my classes if they use facebook I got one response with a "yes, I do" and a few that said, "I have an account just to play games on my phone but facebook is for old people"

Snapchat has done an amazing job building themselves up from just something that kids used. Twitter, well, hopefully they can figure it out.
I'll have to track down some recent numbers, but we're constantly looking at social media usage data at my work to design our ad campaigns. Snapchat is (obviously) super popular among current teenagers and it dwindles in popularity as you go up in age. Instagram is also a pretty big hit. Heck, we created a Snapchat geofilter for a recent high school event we hosted and it had over 25,000 views.

Facebook is an interesting platform, though. I'll be interested to see if the youngest generation gravitates toward it more or not as they get older, because right now, I still think it's the best platform for 1) finding people and 2) keeping up with important friends/family in your life and 3) planning events.
25,000 views? Wow, that is impressive!

Snapchat seems to be getting popular with older people too but that could also make the younger people start to hate it!
Ha ha! Yeah, that's the way it is with everything, right? Music. Clothes. Slang. And now apps. High school kids used to use Facebook. Now, not so much. As Snapchat becomes widely used by the post-college crowd, kids will be off to the next new thing.

How am I being victimized? You still think I'm referencing myself. Dude, I knew exactly what would happen if I questioned Moiraine. I'm talking about other posters in general.
I also am sure it's not entirely on purpose that you all jump to eachothers aid. Once a clique is established, you defend other members of said clique. I get that too.

And your last line made me chuckle.

That is good stuff!

You're continuing to frame this, ludicrously, as a bully-circle / victim thing. Shrug? I'm glad you're getting chuckles! Laughter is healthy

Hm, maybe? Perhaps I should simply take a page out of your book, though: ultimately I'm just not interested in hashing out the history of some interpersonal drama. That seems your area, not mine

If you say stupid sh#t I'm going to call you out on it. I've done it to Knap, he's done it to me, LL has done it to me, Zoogs has too. I don't give a sh#t about what Moiraine said, I agree with some of what you said about her, and I agree with some of the things she said about you.
You said the clique hounds on people with differing opinions until they concede. That's not true in the least. I just thought you should know that. Stupid posts will get ridiculed and picked apart as they should. As will people who troll, and only come in to take pot shots. As will those who post poorly informed opinions.

Yes, I'm tired of the constant Trump bashing. That's why I rarely do it anymore, and I will say when I agree with something he did or said. But our POTUS is a complete jacka$$ right now. It's hard to have anything good to say about him.

Would you rather I just say this shows your lack of knowledge next time ya big baby?

My, f'ing, lord.

He still thinks I'm offended/annoyed by the other douschebag thread. LOL.

Also, this is the Woodshed. If someone thought he was a moron they would say that. If they say "ignorant" they mean ignorant.

I mostly disagree with the notion that there's a hive mind or agenda to ridicule and/or berate those with different views on this board. The most important variable, as with all things, is how well an opinion is substantiated and if the poster is willing to defend their position.

Let's all be careful bringing politics into this, though, or else we're going to have to have a breakout of a breakout thread for political spillover!

I'm not sure you'd call it a hive mind, but I have noticed that the same small group of posters seems to pile on if someone dares to disagree with any of their hot button issues. They are in denial about it. But they do.
