Ever read through some of the posts and think how happy you are that you are normal?
Not exactly related, but sometimes I like to read comments on TikToks or Instagram posts where the creator says something somewhat trigger-worthy... just so I can see people freaking out and having absolute internet meltdowns over it. I'll even do this on content I don't really agree with  .

I've been doing this a lot recently on stuff related to exercise and obesity. I obviously do not support bullying or making fun of overweight people, but it's amazing to me how so many people get pissed off about anyone talking about the importance of exercise and why being obese really isn't a good thing. Some people get all up in their feels about it.

That is funny because I will click on the comments on TikTok just to see the one person that could not handle being normal, had to weigh in with some insane comment, and then it is followed up with 231 people telling them to "relax" or "Do you really not know the creator of the content was kidding?"

I don't think morbidly obese people should be picked on but their obesity shouldn't be celebrated either. And damn I am tired of seeing period underwear ads and I don't care what the models look like.

I definitely don't agree with picking on them.  No need to put people down like that.  However, the celebrating it and essentially saying it's ok to be a raging fat a$$ really gets me.

As a fat guy, I completely agree.  Trust me everyone, I know I'm fat, you don't need to tell me.  I can't think of too many instances really where I've gotten any guff.  I don't have to fly too much anymore for work but when I did, I always flew first class because I need the extra room and frankly, flying stinks enough without some kid kicking your back seat or someone reclining into your lap.  I would imagine my pretty heavy cauliflowered ears probably wards off a lot of potential stuff haha.

I really don't get all the celebrate body positivity stuff when it comes to obesity.  I understand wanting to feel loved and comfortable no matter your size but damn, you just can't gloss over the fact that obesity is no bueno.

Precisely. Hot take rant incoming.

I'm never going to bully, shame or insult an obese person for being obese. I'm also not going to go up to them and tell them to be healthier. But, I'm not going to celebrate obesity or tell an obese person that they should be comfortable and happy with their body. I'd rather just not say anything.

But, the science and facts surrounding obesity are incontrovertible. The chances of you coming down with illnesses/diseases and dying younger are significantly higher. So when I see objectively overweight people being celebrated and told to be comfortable with who they are, to me, it's like telling a smoker or opioid addict to be comfortable with their decision to smoke or abuse opioids. It's not a good thing.

Although I find Joe Rogan to be an idiot quite often, I 100% agree with his takes on body positivity and exercise in general. The vast majority of obese and overweight people are capable of living healthier lives and completing even the simplest of exercises. We shouldn't be glorifying unhealthy lifestyle choices.

Agree...

Although I still think we should celebrate and applaud people that are super good at pounding beers!

Body positivity is just people trying to make themselves feel better about the damage they cause to themselves daily because they have no self control or mental health issues linked to comfort eating. It’s a coping mechanism to make themselves feel better about being obese. Nobody is truly happy in American society being overweight. It’s just a lie they tell themselves. It’s their own burden..but you shouldn’t be a d!(k to them because of it.

For most..being fat is a choice. But so is being a d******d
