So who did Bill Byrne want?
True. And those changes SHOULD HAVE been made after 2002.Until things got bad and then he started forcing(firing) people to retire because of his short(play on words) comings as a Head Coach. The irony in not wanting to bring someone from outside the program due to coaching losing their jobs. <_<Frank was 2nd in command - and had been for awhile AND wasn't going to shake up the staff.

I'm just saying... TO didn't want Byrne to bring in someone outside who would clean house completely - which I respect.
Him thinking he had the power and authority to name his successor and being insistant upon it. Pretty arrogant. Are you saying thsi because of his retiring or him calling his shot for naming Frank?Jesus H. Christ thank you for saying that. TO is not god despite what others may think. (and I'll get killed for saying that) IMO this mess is his fault
He probably deserved to call his shot - and I respect that he didn't want new blood because his assistants would be out of a job. He was a big believer in that jobs shouldn't be lost simply because he wanted to retire.

No, it's being dedicated to your assistants. When the CEO of a bank retires, does the staff directly under them get fired? No.Him thinking he had the power and authority to name his successor and being insistant upon it. At this point you should be dead and out of your misery,, if not,,,, TO would never say he was God. If he was anything he was one humble man. As for Callahan he is no Tom Osbourne, he's not even a Frank Solich. Tom built a great legacy and set a lot of records, Callahan is helping erase those records.Jesus H. Christ thank you for saying that. TO is not god despite what others may think. (and I'll get killed for saying that) IMO this mess is his fault

Now it is T.O. fault? What a joke. People have to blame others and look for excuses.Jesus H. Christ thank you for saying that. TO is not god despite what others may think. (and I'll get killed for saying that) IMO this mess is his fault
Then you have to lump Devaney in with TO as well...Him thinking he had the power and authority to name his successor and being insistant upon it. Pretty arrogant.
