Write-up about top performers at the All America practice yesterday mentioned his height at being just a shade over 6’3” when he was measured. That isn’t the 6’5” that I thought he was. Feels like the Turner Corcoran 6’6” listed and 6’4” reality we had in 2020

Almost without fail, you round up (6'3.25 -> 6'4) and then add an inch (6'5). He is not the only guy who measures 1-1.75 inches shorter than listed. Still plenty tall but 6'5 would have been much scarier.

Heights often seem to be inflated. Rarely the other way around.

Lots of people exaggerate an inch or four here and there.

Malachi Coleman came to San Antonio with the reputation as one of the more explosive jumbo athletes in the 2023 cycle. The 6-foot-3, 190-pounder is a twitchy athlete who stars as a sprinter with a scintillating 10.46 second mark in the 100 meters. For starters, the track speed carried over to the field, where Coleman flashed the ability to separate from defensive backs on downfield routes. He also showed some encouraging coordination and technical receiver skills. To be honest, the route-running was better than expected – we saw Coleman drop his weight and change direction with regularity. The ball skills also checked out as well, as the Cornhusker signee went up to high-point the football throughout practice. The physical tools are considerable, but the technical skills Coleman showed point to a prospect who is not a project as a wide receiver.
