The P&R Plague Thread (Covid-19)

I don't think people with contradictory theories should automatically get shouted down --- especially in the public square -- but the evidence continues to suggest the scientific community handled this the right way, a world of probabilities and uncertainties that don't translate well to angry partisan discourse.

The Pfizer/BioNTech mRNA vaccine directed at COVID-19 is much better than natural infection at revving up key immune cells called killer T cells to fight future infection by SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, Stanford Medicine investigators have found.

The scientists also showed, in a study published online in Immunity, that getting infected by SARS-CoV-2 before getting vaccinated lowers the vaccine’s otherwise exceptional ability to spur proliferation and activation of killer T cells directed at SARS-CoV-2. Their finding suggests that those hoping to avoid the manifold health risks associated with COVID-19 would do well to get vaccinated before they contract the disease.

Another interesting finding from above, which should put to rest listening to Board Rand Paulist, is that vaccination prior to popping your SARs cherry appears to reduce the risk of long Covid which is having a drain on our economy.  That should be in everybody's interest but you know.....

Antibody production upon reinfection of former SARS-CoV-2 patients remains robust, Davis said.

“But antibodies mostly only block infection — they’re much less able to root out established infections,” he said. “Only killer T cells can do that. We think the infection-induced shortage of functional killer T cells may be one factor that’s helping give rise to long COVID, because these impaired killer T cell populations aren’t adequately eliminating all infected cells — and they’re becoming exhausted in trying to do so.”

Does someone not understand that posting a scientific study has nothing to do with another poster posting about whether WHO says kids need vaxxed or not?  It's like that poster thinks everything is about him.  :dunno .   It's like they got their feels hurt that Rand Paul isn't the Covid expert they think he is?  :laughpound

You do realize you don't understand boards no?
You are barking up the wrong tree on this one I promise you and please read the sources you cited and verify if you want to stick with the “he was never certified” statement.   I have 19 years of work experience in Ophthalmology which represents the majority of my work life outside of some years working heart stents.

You will find the comments you made prior to posting your sources are false and incorrect.
