Blaming “both sides” is really a disingenuous way of opting out of a tougher discussion. One that highlights how the GOP goose-steps so far right that moderate Democrats are “commies” and moderate Republicans are now “RINOs”. Anything that runs counter to their agenda is considered “woke” to where the word has little meaning any longer.
You have moderate professors trying to bring discussion from both spectrums into the classroom, but the minute a conservative is “forced” to listen to something counter to their dogma, it becomes too much of a burden and it’s labeled as “woke”, when the reality is that in order to develop critical thinking skills, one has to be exposed to ideas they may not agree with, but they still need to know about.
While there are a handful of extreme liberals out there, they certainly don’t have DNC by the short and curlys like the Evangelical and Extremist/White Supremacist factions have of the GOP. It’s nowhere close to the same or similar level of influence.
Again, elections have consequences, and voting for lackeys of Pillen and Ricketts is (shock of all shocks) going to be bad for the university. Voting for Pillen or Ricketts straight up is bad for the university. They’re anti-education and have proven it time and again.
At this point, if anyone claims to be a Husker fan, claim to support the University, and voted for any of them, they’re a damn hypocrite.
