The P&R Plague Thread (Covid-19)

I wonder that too, since the year and a half I spent living in Atlanta and still frequenting businesses as much as I could, I never saw any strict enforcement of any kind of specific social distancing and have never seen or heard of any stories of businesses or individuals getting in trouble for it.
I got "yelled at" once, at a bar, for standing up with my mask off.  I felt bad and said sorry.  Then later I felt like a moron for saying sorry to a 20 year old hipster girl at a bar in Benson.  Also she was not wearing a mask because she was behind the bar...

But when I thought it even later, she probably saved many lives that night by yelling me for standing up with my mask off.

There are droplet studies.  Feel free to look them up.  Still not perfect, but for anyone looking to social distancing data, that is more accurate than pulling 6 ft out of thin air which is what happened.
Yeah, those totally proved 3 ft vs 6 ft. You've said some ridiculous stuff on this board, but this might be the funniest hill you're going to die on.

Large respiratory droplets containing pathogens like influenza can travel approximately 6 feet when a sick person coughs or sneezes (2325).

Transmission of COVID-19 from inhalation of virus in the air can occur at distances greater than six feet. Particles from an infected person can move throughout an entire room or indoor space.

In addition, physical distancing, wearing masks, and avoidance of crowded indoor spaces can play a role in controlling transmission of the virus.

I realize these may not be MAGA approved Trump endorsed sources but they look pretty legit to me.

Before we can continue, what does your statement have to do with anything?  Considering I don’t care what “MAGA approved” means or that the policy recommendations actually came under Trump.

What you and your others don’t care to understand is that the virus was responsible for untold economic and mental damage from the health policies out into place to try and stop the death caused by the virus.

Going back to review “every measure no matter how insignificant” is actually a pretty damn important thing to do.  That is if you care about getting things right next time this or something similar happens. Which it seems clear some people don’t and just wanna sweep the mistakes under the rug no matter how significant.

Yes, let's go back 4 year and question every measure we took in the name of public health, no matter how insignificant, for a novel virus that was overloading our healthcare system. f#&% Fauci! Am I right?
My life is so f’d up now because I had to wear a mask and follow arrows in the aisles at Walmart!!!!

Dont even get me started on how Bill Gates is peeping in my windows at night since I got a vaccine…

It’s been my experience that only one type of politically predisposed persons were/are vehemently opposed to vaccines, masking and social distancing. I was just letting you know that my sources were likely not acceptable to those folks.

Actually I do understand the virus was responsible for much economic damage. However, I’m not anal enough to make a distinction between 3’ or 6’ and make a big stink over it.

You seem to think 3’ more would’ve made a huge difference for businesses. I don’t. Many people didn’t want to be in the same building as others let alone within 3’.  The Man didn’t screw over businesses, the virus did.

And truthfully the whole ordeal benefitted my business. We made partitions, carts and other items that we had never made before to help restaurants and bars deal with distancing measures and to make their customers and employees feel more safe. Their number one concern was protecting their employees and customers, complying with mandates was a secondary issue.

I don’t want to sweep anything under the rug. I hope “they” get it all figured out, learn from the mistakes and are better prepared for the next time. But I’m not all up in my feels over it because I likely won’t be around for the next one.

And for the record, I’ve seen video of slo mo coughs and sneezes. I know how far they can travel. You can post all the obfuscating studies and faux science you wish and it will never convince me that masking and social distancing doesn’t help prevent the spread, hospitalizations and death. It’s quite the crackpot crazy nonsensical side of this issue you’ve chosen.

If somebody is 3 feet away from me pre COVID in a grocery store I'm already uncomfortable, nevermind when there was an actual global pandemic going on.

It's completely reasonable to question a lot of the measures that were taken by governments, but 3ft vs 6ft definitely ain't one of them when people were literally dying and there were cold storage trailers being used as morgues.

The oldest known film is of a sneeze. Just one guy, sneezing.

It did not win an Oscar.
