** 2024 Opponent Preview : Colorado (Game 2) **

+1. I hadn't wanted to make the comment myself, but you said it so I'll pile on. He just plays kind of slow and his lateral movement isn't quite there.

But hey, maybe he'll find a higher gear somehow and turn some heads down the stretch. I could see it.
I definitely think MJ brings something to the table against run heavy teams, Illinois, Iowa, etc. However, this matchup is tailormade for Princewell/James Williams. Let's see how those tackles bend with someone as quick and twitchy as they are. I will also be curious to see how Seaton holds up against Ty's bull rush.

So, will we play in softer coverage with our corners for at least the 1st quarter and allow them to pitch & catch down around our 25, then tighten up and try to hold them to field goals?

Or will we go all in and try to play a tight man coverage right out of the gate?

Going to be interesting.
I think they are going to pressure big time and allow the boys to man up.

Agreed.  We need these guys to set the tone early.  I don't see Nash or Robinson getting to the very mobile Sanders too much unless Hash can do the SUH like bull rush and knock the center into the QB.

He's got the tools which makes its frustrating to watch.  You see flashes and then he has plays that make me question how long he has been playing football.  I dont think his brain allows him to do what his body is capable of.  I agree with the other poster He's  a short yardage and a goaline guy

CU won't run and if they do, great!

Down 3 linemen need to be DE types.  If CU wants to try and run the ball to win the game, perfect.  That takes their three best players out of the game.

My son is a hs senior and the only weekend he has open from marching band is the weekend of Sept 7 for the Colorado game.  I am curious if anyone knows of any tickets that are not accounted for or any local brokers in Lincoln and Omaha that would not be as outrageous as stubhub currently is.

Just checking if anyone is aware of 2 tickets coming for sale.  I am still looking at stubhub and seat geek but wanted to check here first.

No, we need them stopping the run and taking up blocks so everyone else can be flying around making their attempt to pass miserable.

Do they still print tickets?  Here is something I have not done since 2016 ish, but have had good success with. I think my daughter still gets CWS tickets this way, but it only works if you’re in the Yorkish area and they still have printed tickets. You will also need a 402 area code.

call into the Bargain Counter for the York radio station. I am sure it’s still on. 9:00 am (I think). And tell them what you just told us about your son only having this weekend off. You might get a farmer that can’t go or an older person that’s deciding it’s going to be too wild.

I have been shopping for weeks.   My son is flying home from Florida to go to the game.   He hasn't been to a game in years but wanted to be there for this one.   Plenty for sale but man are they expensive.  Going to bite the bullet Thursday if I don't find anything reasonable.

I think we need a lil beef up front. Control the LOS, first and foremost. Shouldnt be too hard to do, their OL isn’t that great.

CU OL is so bad  that any mixes, twists, and stunts will cause them problems. Then we need a rover/jack to just fly to Sanders every 3-4 plays and make him uneasy.

Our D front will best their OL front.  We just need to mix pressure and make him back up and scramble another 6-7 yrs backwards. He has shown the last season or so he doesn’t mind doing that at all. He runs backwards a lot and flings the ball downfield, sometimes to great success.

Now, he has the arm strength and play making ability to fling it and make something happen. Can he do that 5-6 times a game for huge yds/td’s?  I bet not, if we are swarming him and keeping him off balance.
Long/short….they won’t be able to run the ball.  Send decent pressure w 4.  Every few snaps don’t have a spy,  but send someone up the middle or off the edge in a dead sprint to him. He will scramble around too much and we will get sacks and force him to make bad throws.  He will get some YOLO and big plays, no doubt.  But by the 4th qtr he’ll be rattled and scrambling for so long the mistakes will be made.

I am glad this game is at home.

I am so excited that this is a night game as well.  Hope our fans bring the energy and noise !!!

Look for Colo to go after our QB Dylan.  They will try to send pressure and will try to hit him and knock him down any chance they get.  I think Dylan was down only once last week.  So hopefully we have good communication to see the reads and check down before pressure brings Dylan down to the turf.

As for Sanders, he has played a lot of college football games.  I think he likes to get rid of the ball quickly, but also likes to get greedy.  We need to play coverage and hopefully he scoots around in the pocket and feels indecisive where to throw.  And that way our 3-4 man front can get to him.

I feel like we have a good enough secondary to provide coverage, and also so man at times in case we send an extra guy to get to the QB.

Huskers defenses needs to eliminate the big plays, and exchange TDs for FGs inside the 35 yard line (extended red zone).  Make them put long drives together.

Offensively, with 3-4 good RBs, we will use them and get their defense tired.

Stay away from the Colo blitzes (or pressure), and make check down throws.  Put together long drives and hit your big plays down field.

This is going to be a great game!  Probably close and nerve-wrecking at times.  But by the 4th quarter I think we will take over the game on the field, and the fans will go nuts when CU has the ball.

Cannot wait!

Cant take bad angles and miss tackles this week.  Those skill players will torch the D if they start slipping tackles.  I dont expect out WR to be so wide open as they were last game but if we can still run the ball effectively the offense should roll.  I still think this game goes to the wire
