Dana Holgorsen Hired as Offensive Coordinator

lol, I was being serious in my post in that I learned you can now have 19 staff members on the comm headsets, that was news to me.

the rules have shifted so much with the analysts allowed, the ways they can now partake in practice, who can be designated to recruit, etc. it’s hard to keep up with all these changes dammit lol

back in my day we just drew up plays in the dirt and in our hand and said, go get em boyssss

Do Kingsbury and Holgorson cross paths in prior stops? I wonder if they are barking up the "You want to be more like Mahomes, this is the offense he ran in college" for Raiola?

GO BIG RED!

Sounds like you only had one play.

4.  2 running (1 left of the center, 1 right of the center, runner got to decide where the best lane was, between guard and center or tackle and guard), and 2 passing (no "shotgun" formation, QB was always under center), QB passed to either right or left "end."

Kingsbury played at Tech when Dana was the inside wide receiver coach and then later worked under him at Houston when Dana was the OC.

I think Dana was hired (and paid) so he can make some decisions without the co-OC's and players questioning him.   Should help the offense with some plays.  But also help QB to get rid of ball quicker and receivers to get open more quickly.

One of the podcasts put it great- “Dana can basically come in and call the baby (offensive operation) ugly as hell cause he has no prior ties.”

everything from our play calling rhythm, to setting up plays, to execution, to the time it takes to huddle and hike has been a train wreck.  Im very hopeful, dare I say confident, we’ll see an offense against usc that is simplified a bit but much more intentional an decisive with what we are trying to do

Dana will want all the Speed on the field!!!
Malachai Coleman....4.3 40.......6'5......210....

Banks....4.5.....6'4....220

Neyor.....4.49....6'3....216

Barney....4.3....6'....170

Lloyd...4.3...5'10...160

Wasn't Coleman talked about for his blocking ability.  Play the last 3 games and it won't impact RS.  He's tall and fast...

Can Dana teach the O to run counters and different gaps in the run game in one week?  Honestly I have no idea if we even counter.  Don't see a whole lot of pulling.  Maybe we do, but are ineffective or not athletic enough to actually do correctly....

Our run game is the definition of unimaginable. Counters would be ground breaking, even simple traps would work wonders to help open up running lanes. Part of the issue is counters have way more effectiveness out of the single back and I formation when you can run to either side from the formation.

when we continually run out of the shotgun it takes a way a bit of the rb momentum and a bit easier for the defense to target a general area, particularly when the qb is a non run threat
