2) If he leaves, make dang sure the competition has to pay a lot.

What do you think worth/value is to be paid as a d-line coach??  How much do you think Nebraska wants to pay to keep him here bc I have no clue what top notch d-line coaches make.

I read where Rhule was offering a title change with more responsibilities too.  So, that can help.

Top d-line coaches make more then a million.  You want to win you have to pay.  Also that's why I asked the question if Nebraska fans believe he should be paid as a top notch d-line coach.

There are five $1 million+ DL coaches,  and the guys he would replace at FSU (old friend John Papuchis ST/DE, Odell Haggins for DTs) were making 750k and 685k respectively. Not crazy to assume Knighton would get more.

I can see 750 to 800, but that's not 1 million.

I won’t be surprised if FSU pays 1 mil… it has been rumored that they have decided to open the checkbook. If they are already paying current (former) guys 750, then opening the checkbook means 1 mil.

Agreed.  I have heard Rhule & White talk openly going back to last season about the need to get home with 4 and play coverage behind.  That may be interpreted as more conservative by some.  But, when I think aggressive, I think along the lines of McBride.  Flood the box & take away the run, make opponents one dimensional, get after the QB & compete in the secondary.

I know most probably think NU's DB's need to be protected, but I've watched a lot of Pitt games this year because of a former player, and Lynum has been really solid in an aggressive defense.  Makes me wonder if NU's DB's are doing too much thinking & just need to be freed to compete.  

I also think under Bo and Sanders the DB's just played....They did pretty well.  I mean we had Bo's QB graveyard....
