Who's Leaving? 2024/25 version

Maybe he feels like that he should have been the featured back all season and that's why he is leaving nobody knows.  Just hope that where ever he goes he is happy and doesn't put himself into a situation like Chubba where he transfers out of his next school he goes to.

He was featured recently. I don’t buy the excuse that he was disrespected earlier in the season so he is leaving. You have a chance with a new OC that understands your value. Why leave? Again, I can’t stress enough how damaging the Iowa game loss has been. I feel that had we won that game, half of what is happening would not be happening.

I think there will be, or maybe just make them become available through back channels.   I was hoping EJ would stay as it looked like he had decent vision and potential.  However, he’s gone now so the work to replace begins.  Hope he finds what he is looking for and I hope NU does a better job of identifying who should be the RB starter next year as EJ was clearly a better every down back than Dowdell. 

I believe that too just don't know if he never had the opportunity to be the guy or he didn't show the coaches that in fall practice to be the guy.  It stinks to lose a guy like him bc it felt like he was coming into his own at the end of the season and now we have to add more pieces to the puzzle to be key contributors for next's year team.

Do you feel like all of the players are leaving bc of the Iowa loss or just EJ?? Butler was wishy washy last year where he entered the transfer portal only to take his name out, it almost feels like James Williams didn't play for the University of Nebraska but for TK and MG leaving as the starting linebacker who knows.

Honestly every single player that's good enough to get on the field should enter the portal even if they're just negotiating a better NIL deal to stay. Until college football has contacts, players have the ability to renegotiate every year and have the strongest position if they are declared for the portal.

So why is EJ bolting? He was getting major attention. Something systemic in the culture of this team is going on that is causing people to bolt. Winning is a culture and losing is a culture. I guess we know what we have.

Because he’s our best back and he’s average.  Seems like a good kid, but he’s being replaced.

NIL has killed college football. It has become minor league NFL. How is this helping these players? There is no way this continuous transfer carp is good for their academic careers. Not everyone is going to the NFL and some of them have to get day jobs after college is over. I cannot believe that the NCAA has allowed this crap to happen. In other words, player development is bullcrap. The university with the deepest pockets can buy the championship. And if players truly believed that Rhule is such a wonderful player developer, why are they bolting faster than we can recruit their replacements. Why does it feel like finally going to a bowl game is anticlimactic given the mass exodus in coaches and players. Yet, the one solid constant is Ed Foley. He is more resilient than a cactus.
