Who's Leaving? 2024/25 version

There will be a lot of kids leaving, sure.  But developing guys as freshmen and sophomores will still be necessary.  I think it’s setting yourself up for failure if you don’t plan on doing that.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see 75% of this recruiting class that redshirts still be on the team as rs sophomores.  If they aren’t seeing a handful of reps in games at that point, a split might be mutual decision.
Wasn't there some scuttlebutt about eliminating "redshirts" completely, and everyone just gets 5 seasons of eligibility?  I could have swore I saw that in one of the NCAA topics?

Maybe that also means Satt and possibly Barthel are gone after the bowl game.
Seems like this should happen right?

I have a friend that had a pretty alcoholic and lame wife. His mother in law was old and not in good health so she lived with them. When he got a divorce the mother in law stayed with him. He’s even remarried and she still lives with them. Who is Satt in this story?

It is possible, but it depends on how many scholarships the B1G actually allows teams to hand out within the 105. The SEC said that the limit will stay at 85 for next year, that means SEC teams can have 20 walkon/non-scholly players next year under the hard 105 team roster cap. If the B1G allows teams to issue out 105 scholarships then there won’t be any walkons.

It sounds like big 10 is going to let the schools decide on scholarships over the 85.  Some many have walks-ons, partial scollies or 105 full schollies.

I didn’t know Bootle hit the portal.

It’s bittersweet. Following these guys as recruits. Exited to see them develop a little while still hoping that the talent manifests on the field.

But they leave without even hitting the field. I understand it, but it kinda sucks still. Like Kaelin, Dae’vonn, Bootle. Never hit the field so I’ll never see what they could have or couldn’t have done.

And guys that were on the field like Gbayor, Williams, and Butler. Like they were so close to breaking through as major playmakers, but never did for us.  Best of luck to them all. Thanks for the commitment while they were here.

What do you mean? Am I wrong to assume that if they refuse to play you can kick their a$$ out the door and stop/recover any scholarship and NIL deal?
'Injury' is definitely one way but end of day you can't make someone run out there. Not sure the legalities of pulling any scholarship or NIL but I have heard of a few instances of a player essentially refusing to play or quitting the team after playing 4 to preserve a redshirt for the next school. Don't know if that has happened here at Nebraska specifically though but if someone stops showing up to practice you can't really play them. The team can control what the player does up to a certain point but they can't make them do anything.
